Exactly! I can't tell you how many sellers have done this. I try to only buy from sellers I know or that are recommended due to this.

The seller's feedback record doesn't necessarily help either. They avoid negative feedback by taking back the fake item and issuing a refund when the buyer complains. We are too nice and so glad to get our money back that we let the seller off with positive or no feedback. Yes, I'm guilty of this (not leaving fb.) even though I know better.

I've purchased charms from this seller and they have always been authentic. In eBay do a search for the charm you are looking for it will bring all of them up and you can compare plus it helps to find the best prices.

Authenticators usually offer more than just a vouch of confidence on the seller. I find that most credible authenticators in tPF, not just here in JC thread, give their own insight on the item(s) being authenticated. They are able to do that because they own or have owned the authentic items similar to the ones being asked for authentication, or have extensive collections and can be considered experts on identifying fakes.

I admit I'm a JC charm newbie, but I'm not an eBay newbie. When one goes to eBay, you always do a SEARCH for the item you want to buy. I mean, how else would you know what's out there in the first place? Also, there's a couple of eBay threads here in tPF that give more valuable eBay advise.

Sorry for being off-topic.

But thanks for looking into it.
