Hi! I'm new to this forum and am interested in this bag from e-bay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...7.m32&_trkparms=tab=Watching#ebayphotohosting

I'm suspicious since the listing names the bag as both a morgan and a marcia. Any advice as to the authenticity?
Thanks so much!!
Tamara

Welcome Tamara:welcome:
The bag is a Marcia and it looks good from the photos, BUT I would ask for a close up photo of the inside of the bag showing the lilac tag font to be sure. The photo showing it looks good, but it could have easily been taken from a number of other photos and photo-shopped (removing someone else's watermarking or using a department store photo) into their listing. If they can provide that, then you should be okay.
(be sure to post the photo if they send you one before you purchase)

I just went back to check into their feedback and although they have pretty good feedback, there were still a few red flags. I would be very cautious and make sure to use only Paypal or a CC with recourse should something not be right.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply! I just sent off a question asking for a close-up of the interior tag. I'll let you know the response and if she provides another photo. If I were to purchase the bag, should I take it into a Jimmy Choo retail location to authenticate? If it turns out to be fake...would I contact e-bay or my CC (I will use paypal to purchase)? Thanks again!

This is the reply I received from the seller of this item:

Hello dear. I cut off the tag on the picture for close up view. Please see the lilac tag inside of the bag and also close up view separated on the top of the photo. The straps are 19 inches length. This bag come from NORDSTROM retail store. Best regards, cheeta384

She has not provided another photo...what do you think??

thanks again!

I would be very cautious. BUT that is just me. If there is a refund policy and you can use paypal, then you should be okay, but just remember there will always be another one!

IMO - I wouldnt bid on the Marcia. Why would she cut off the picture of the most important thing on the bag? I agree with Robynz - she either probably took pics from someone or a website. unless she sends a COMPLETE pic of the inside w/tag

Hello,

I hope you all are having a nice weekend.

I think this is fake...but I wanted to confirm with the experts (haha!). I think the lilac metal label font is too thick to be authentic - is this correct? Also, I think the round button is not centered as it should be and the dust bag appears to be fake(?)

Any assistance or guideance would be truly appreciated! Thanks!

Wanted to pipe in...something I learned about fake Ramona's and others like it (Riki, for example) was that you should look on the back of the clasp. The screws used in the fakes are sloppy looking phillips head (the one with the X). The real ones are the conventional straight head and have a really good quality finish.

Now that I've been on this forum for about 6 weeks, it becomes relatively easy to spot a fake Choo. The font and the positioning of the lettering are dead giveaways.

I would recommend reading the entire (or at least the last 5-8 pages) JC authentication thread. It is good training. You can really see what all the fakes have in common.

Of course it never hurts to ask.
