I'd REALLY appreciate any help on this one. Trying to decide to return this one to the seller or keep it.

Hello,
I'm hoping someone here can help me. I purchased a Tiffany necklace for my girlfriend on ebay. The seller had sold a ton of high end goods with no negative reviews. I thought I was safe. The necklace appears real to me but the Tiffany packaging was fake. The seller said she used another box laying around. Now I'm concerned maybe the necklace is fake.

The item was: Tiffany Elsa Peretti Open Heart Lariat.

Here are a bunch of pictures of the item I received. You should be able to scroll through the pictures with the "next" button. Also, you can click on the pictures to enlarge.

Thanks,

I've look at this one. The necklace looks absolutely fine to me! What was wrong with the packaging?

Thank you for the reply! The package is a slightly different color and appears to be lower quality than other Tiffany packaging from items I've bought new from the store. A felt bag was included instead of the traditional draw string suede pouch.

The seller didn't claim this was the originally packaging. They said it was a random box they had laying around. I believe them as the necklace appears genuine to me. Any reasons why this necklace could be fake? I've never seen a fake of this item, although I'm sure they could exist. I could still send it back but I got for $160 vs the $375+ tax for a new one at Tiffany's. If I can be sure this one is real - I'm keeping it.

The packaging doesn't look fake to me. It looks old. It's the type face that Tiffany used during the 80's/90's. The box should be smooth not embossed like the new ones. The pouch matches.

Well that is GREAT news for me. THANK YOU!!!

I've only bought Tiffany items from the store for the last 5 years or so. That's what I was expecting. I've never seen a box like this.

I think the packaging does look funny & cheaper than what I'm used to. I don't like the way the blue "paper" is attached to the inside of the box. But as stated by Bloomsburymanor, it could be older. And the necklace looks absolutely fine from what you are showing us....you should be ok, don't worry about the box too much! :smile1:

Look at these vintage Tiffany items - look at the boxes. You see what I mean? You just got an old box!

Hello, I've recently purchased this Tiffany & Co. ring from Poshmark and my sister told me it seemed fake because it's not stamped on the inside and because of the packaging. I'm panicking a bit because the seller specified that it was authentic. Can somebody please authenticate this ring for me? Thank you so much in advance.

These ring are often copied. There is nothing obviously wrong here. The ring should not be signed on the inside. The packaging is fine.

Hello,
Please take a look at this Tiffany & Co 18k Gold Tear Drop Necklace that I bought on eBay and let me know if you think it's fake.
The necklace chain tag reads TIFFANY & CO. on 1-side and PERETTI (in italics or slanted type) on the other.
The pendant reads T+Co 18K (the "o" is smaller, in superscript and underlined) on the bottom, in the center.
The clasp base ring (side with spring-ring) that connects to the chain is pinched. And the clasp is not hallmarked.
Everything else is soldered and smooth.
Lastly, the listing said the necklace was 19", but in reality it is 21".

These pendants have been made by Tiffany for a long time. The way they are marked has changed subtly over time. Some say 18k, some say 750, Spain. The item is fairly old, probably 20 yrs but it doesn't look suspicious. It does say Peretti with 2 ts, right?

Hi there, could someone please authenticate this cartier love ring for me?

It's pre-loved, could be older. It doesn't have the (c) copyright in a circle, like I've seen.

It's my first cartier so I don't have a trained eye for it.

Was also wondering if store SA's are allowed to verbally verify?

Thanks so much ahead to anyone.
