Counterfeits are not allowed on ebay, but unless it is reported (if people know they are looking at a fake) they sometimes slip through. Ebay has really clamped down, and Tiffany has VERO reps that are supposed to look at listings before they appear for everyone else to see, but I don't think they police perfectly. I always report when I see a fake, because I can't stand the thought of someone paying good money for what they think is Tiffany. But you can breath easy, yours is authentic.

Oh I forgot to ask how you can tell the difference between authentic and replica on the tag stuff? That way I can week through when looking for a bracelet.

It looks good. Shape is right, deep hallmarks near the clasp, and color (not too shiny or white). Pouch is right, and these are not really faked all that much (not that I have seen yet)- they just aren't as popular as the 1837 or RTT lines, and some other Peretti items. I can't speak to lack of feedback- seems like someone who drops an item here or there. Almost safer that way, sometimes!

I just can't fathom that even the Tiffany packaging is being used for fakes!!! I want a bracelet but now I'm scared, lol...

The older boxes were shiny and white inside instead of the matte and solid blue you see now. Sounds like she mixed an old box with a newer pouch and threw the ribbon in just to make it look nice. The important thing is that the bracelet itself if authentic. I get items all the time that either have no packaging, or packaging that is authentic but not original to the piece. I don't mind as long as nothing is fake. I don't think there is a huge problem with the Peretti on ebay, but it does have its fair share of fakes (RTT line is the most faked, IMO). Sad part is, many times the sellers don't even know they are fake. It's always a good practice to check out if the seller has sold Tiffany before, and what the feedback on that was. There are many reputable sellers on ebay that carry authentic, pre-owned Tiffany and if you look enough, it's fairly easy to figure out who is who. And when you see a bracelet you are interested in, post it here and we'll have a look.I'd be happy to take a look at your ring if you want to post pics or links. Try not to use the flash, ok?

You could ask, but it's always better to see a pic, just to be certain. They can come off, but the way they are situated inside the tag makes that difficult. Lack of one does not neccesarily mean it's not authentic, but I have never seen a fake WITH one.

Thank you for the help she is going to email me a pic tomarrow. I got a juicy wallet and it had a sticker with a number on the inside of it so I can know what I'm to look for. After you mentioned that I sure checked the wallet for the sticker to make sure so I am soooo glad it had one. Thanks again! I got a real good deal on the bag is why I want to make sure it is real so I will feel much better when she sends the pic :laugh:

Thanks! Now after you said that I think what she did is sent me the necklace in the box she had for her bracelet which she had to sell and got the larger one so she probably didn't give away the box. It really is no matter to me if the piece is authentic how she packaged it but it is nice to have the pouch to store it in but the boxes I got I really don't need. I'll get some pics of the ring up maybe tomarrow or the next day I seem to be so busy lately but with kids you are always running around,lol. Thank you for all the info! I need more pics. The back of the heart, the hallmarks on the chain. She says it comes with pouch and box, I'd like to see those too.

They do make this bracelet, it is called the 1837 charm bracelet. What you think is the care card is actually the polishing cloth envelope. However, the pics of the bracelet itself are not very clear and have too much glare, and I am a little thrown by the shape of the links, how they are flattened at the tops and bottoms. THe bracelet they have now has longer links that have edges all the way around. I will have to do some checking to see if there was an older version.

Since this does have the Chanel tag, did you try asking on the Chanel board? They know more about Chanel than I do.

Pay with CC through paypal and post pics when you get it (if you buy it). Then take pics and post on Chanel board when you get it. If it is not the same item, you can file a dispute with paypal (if seller won't refund on thier own).
