Tiffany engagement rings are one of the few things that is hard to say without doubt if it is truly authentic by pictures alone. All Tiffany diamonds are laser inscribed on the diamond itself and the serial number corresponds to the number on the diamond certificate that comes with the ring. The serial number is very, very small and a special tool is needed to see it. The only way to know without doubt that the diamond is the original Tiffany diamond is to take it to the Tiffany store or send it yourself to New York. It takes about 4 weeks, maybe 3 if they aren't busy, to get a new evaluation. That being said, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy a ring on ebay, you can get a great deal this way and you won't have any issues getting a new evaluation even thought the original may have been issued to someone else. But if there is an issue, it does put you outside most sellers return polices. Make sure you use a credit card through paypal to pay for it just in case. The bands on the rings in the photo's look good but I can't tell you that the diamond is authentic because of this.

Evening :D

I have a Tiffany related question, but not about jewellery... is there any way to tell if a Tiffany box is real or fake? I have been sorting through my boxes and most have tiny T's embossed on them, but some just have a dotted texture, and some are smooth. The fonts all seem the same, so would all the ones without the tiny T's be fake? or have Tiffany changed the box design over the years?

The bead bracelet now comes in several sizes in length and also several sizes in bead mm size. All of this will effect the amount of beads on the chain. The bead is count is not used to determine if the item is fake, because it could have been altered (people do this all of the time which is why in pre-owned jewelry, small things like this should not be used to say whether a piece is real or fake). Of course, I don't know what the bracelet looks like, it very well could be fake, but if you are looking to buy the bead bracelet, keep this in mind. You don't want to miss a good deal potentially.

Thanks so much for your help. I ended up getting a great deal on another tiffany & co bead bracelet (should arrive this week! So excited!) but that's not to say the other one wasn't real. I have small wrists/ hands, so I would have had to pay to have it shortened anyway. Now I HAVE to stop looking at all the tiffany stuff on eBay! I have a kitchen to remodel.

I feel like there may have even been another design but I can't think of it at the moment. Each bracelet came in sizes from small, medium and large. Although all cuff's when they first came out years ago, only came in one size. It wasn't until later on that Tiffany offered them in different sizes. The owner could have had the size adjusted, this is very common with cuffs.

I don't know exactly when the cuff you have came out. Its not the first 'edition' so I would think it is an newer version. Same with the ring.

Tiffany will not give you anything written or verbal for that matter (they will not authenticate pieces of jewelry) but if they accept it to be cleaned, that is an indication the item is authentic. If this is for an ebay sale, make sure you let the buyer know that Tiffany does not give written documents for authenticity. The receipt for the cleaning should be reassuring however.

Hi sadiesthegirl or other experts :) I was hoping to get a second opinion on this item.. which I think is fake but just double checking before I take action.. the pouch is very smooth/flat not like other pouches I've had and the font is raised/just stamped on and feels rough to touch.. It's not well made. The bracelet seems off, the font placement, etc.. even though the "elements" are there (925 on clasp) Can you please let me know your thoughts? Thanks!

It looks a little off to me. The Return to Tiffany marking seems to be going off the edge of the piece.

Is Bailey banks and biddle online store authentic? I tried searching but most of what I found was when they were going thru a bankruptcy in '09?

Right now I'm looking to get a tag heuer and they have significant discounts on them. Is bailey, banks and biddle considered "grey market"?

Could all the Cartier Love bracelet owners please help me out! I am wanting a YG Cartier love bracelet and am so afraid to purchase one with the new locking screw system. I found these two on Ebay in my size but I'm a little nervous they aren't authentic. The Chinese writing on the papers makes me nervous. Also, when I look closely at the engraving the bracelets are different. For example the one from 2002 has the number 1 in 16 engraved with a line under the number but the 2007 only has the 1 engraved with a line on the top of the 1. Hopefully I'm being clear.
