Hello, I just bought the Tiffany link heart tag bracelet and would like to have it authenticated here. The hallmarks on the heart is in a different font compared with what I'm used to but I think it's an old piece. It also contains the British silver hallmarks below the first line, but very very faint, so I'm unsure of its authenticity. Also, there is a 925 engraved on the the tube bit which connects the clasp to the ring.

Photos are here: http://s1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh542/ShimmerDreamz/Tiffany links bracelet/

Also, I took some photos of the 1837 cuff and ring which I purchased years ago on Ebay (before I found tpf). I'm hoping they are older design pieces as they look slightly different compared to the newer versions.

Ring:

Thanks so much!

All three pieces look authentic to me. 1837 has been around for a long time. The newer pieces differ from the older pieces in several area's in terms of the markings, both in and outside of the jewelry. But all look good to me.

Oh wow, that's fantastic news! Now my heart is slightly aching for the big scratch on the cuff and feel a tad bad for ever contemplating melting it to create another silver piece! The sacrilege had it ever taken place :0

How old based on the designs do you think the two 1837 pieces are? Also, the cuff opening is extremely small (1 1/8 inches) - did the Tiffany cuff sizes run smaller in the past or is it more likely the original owner had it adjusted to size?

To have even a fraction of you jewellery knowledge

Hello! I'm trying to sell this and a potential buyer is asking about authenticity. If I bring it to Tiffany's to be polished, can they also have something written up that it is indeed authentic? Thanks :)

Help- I bid on a Tiffany & co silver bead bracelet and am currently the highest bidder. Hallmarks looked good but I then noticed (after I bid) that it has 20 beads instead of 17. I asked the seller if she has gotten it lengthened by T&co and she said that she sells for others and the original owner said that she bought it at Tiffany & co that way. Is this possible? The seller guarantees it to be authentic.

Sounds a bit strange. How big are the beads, and what length is the bracelet? 10mm bracelets at 7.5" should have 17 beads, and 10mm at 8.25" should have 19 beads.

I think they'll only give you a receipt for it being polished, not a certificate of authenticity. But Tiffany do not polish non-Tiffany items, so if they polish it, and if they give you a receipt for that process, it's as good as authenticated with authentification papers.

The 1837 cuff came in several sizes and a few variations. It came in a narrow very thin cuff, then also the one you have pictured and then the thick wide cuff. I feel like there may have even been another design but I can't think of it at the moment. Each bracelet came in sizes from small, medium and large. Although all cuff's when they first came out years ago, only came in one size. It wasn't until later on that Tiffany offered them in different sizes. The owner could have had the size adjusted, this is very common with cuffs.

I don't know exactly when the cuff you have came out. Its not the first 'edition' so I would think it is an newer version. Same with the ring.

Just to add- it used to be that you would determine authenticity of the bead bracelets by counting the beads but this is not a good way to deem if the bracelet is authentic or not. The bead bracelet now comes in several sizes in length and also several sizes in bead mm size. All of this will effect the amount of beads on the chain. The bead is count is not used to determine if the item is fake, because it could have been altered (people do this all of the time which is why in pre-owned jewelry, small things like this should not be used to say whether a piece is real or fake). Of course, I don't know what the bracelet looks like, it very well could be fake, but if you are looking to buy the bead bracelet, keep this in mind. You don't want to miss a good deal potentially.

Tiffany engagement rings are one of the few things that is hard to say without doubt if it is truly authentic by pictures alone. All Tiffany diamonds are laser inscribed on the diamond itself and the serial number corresponds to the number on the diamond certificate that comes with the ring. The serial number is very, very small and a special tool is needed to see it. The only way to know without doubt that the diamond is the original Tiffany diamond is to take it to the Tiffany store or send it yourself to New York. It takes about 4 weeks, maybe 3 if they aren't busy, to get a new evaluation. That being said, this doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy a ring on ebay, you can get a great deal this way and you won't have any issues getting a new evaluation even thought the original may have been issued to someone else. But if there is an issue, it does put you outside most sellers return polices. Make sure you use a credit card through paypal to pay for it just in case. The bands on the rings in the photo's look good but I can't tell you that the diamond is authentic because of this.

The bracelet looks authentic to me. If you took this to Tiffany for cleaning, the only thing they would give you is a receipt for the cleaning charge. Tiffany will not give you anything written or verbal for that matter (they will not authenticate pieces of jewelry) but if they accept it to be cleaned, that is an indication the item is authentic. If this is for an ebay sale, make sure you let the buyer know that Tiffany does not give written documents for authenticity. The receipt for the cleaning should be reassuring however.
