I’m actually new at this and purchased it because of Ledoux but the touch of it didn’t seem right to me so I was hoping You guys could shine your expertise light.
Here is the original listing https://m.ebay.com/orderDetails?itemId=283129581727&txnId=0

I have purchased two items from two different sources and they both look identical, one from Vestiaire collective with their authenticity check, and another from eBay. I have already in my possession 7 other scarves of the same print, and in my heart something tells me these items are not genuine as they appear overly well preserved for such a vintage. The silk does not appear to have aged at all, a bit too crisp as opposed to smooth. The eBay item arrived in an obviously fake box, from a sender in China, with a consolation nylon scarf in the postal sleeve. Can I please have your opinion?

Item: Hermes Qalamdan Finesse Print - Teal on Silver
Listing number: 302877104999
Seller: startin6664

Comments: Weight for each item is 70g and dimensions 90cm by 90cm. Both items have their tags.

We do not authenticate previously purchased items.
It is not rare to find old scarves that have never been worn and were perfectly preserved. Many collectors do not wear all of their scarves.

I have 2 scarves that I am really hoping are the real thing. I found this page by accident and am not really sure how to add a post with pics. Here goes.................these belonged to my MIL. She was dirt poor and never traveled outside of NJ. I am sure that the wife of her boss brought these back from Europe for her sometime in the 70s. One has a tag, the other does not. I have the original orange box with tissue paper still inside. Any help would be appreciated.

REMINDER: PLEASE READ THE 1ST POST IN THIS THREAD BEFORE POSTING

This thread is for discussion on authenticity of Hermes scarves and Ready-To-Wear.

NOTE: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

This thread provides help with authentication –did Hermes indeed manufacture an item? Authentication requires a link to a currently for sale item with photos of title, signature, copyright, hems, close-up of fabric – weave, full flat scarf photo. Hermes scarves, have over the years, been manufactured to different standards of quality. Identifying marks may be absent on some scarves. Ask seller for extra photos prior to authentication request. It is the buyer’s responsibility to assess condition - does the item show signs of wear?

Please follow these rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about Hermes, please refer to our reference section for such information. Finally, do not submit requests for something that is obviously a fake, e.g. the item says it is a replica, or a $200 Birkin.

  • It is the preference of the authenticators on this thread not to give authentication to members who buy and resell scarves as an ongoing practice. It is also the preference of the authenticators to comment on current, not closed, auctions and sales, and to give authentication to members who post in a range of threads, not just requesting free authentication for designer items. If your request is not answered here, for whatever reasons, professional authentication services are available outside of PF.

  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

Comments:
  • Authenticators are not required to answer every request, some may not be answered for various reaons, and it is their right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format.
  • Authenticators may also request additional pictures and/or information in order to assist with authentication. Please remember, it is always useful to have several close up pictures when submitting an item for authentication.
  • For scarves, please provide pictures of the hem, tag if possible, copyright, and close up to show the weave. Hermes stamp on every item.
  • Please do not intervene to confront a troll or rudeness on the boards, just use the REPORT function to alert the mods, and let them handle it from there. In the meantime, just ignore the poster until a mod can intervene.
  • Always be respectful when you post and treat others as you expect to be treated.
  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests must be posted in this thread.
