Without the above information and current for sale status there will be no authentication

In support of the authenticators on this thread, just adding a reminder to members to please read the first post in this thread before making your request. There are very few guidelines, but those are clearly laid on in that first post. If all your requests are for authentication, if the auction has ended, if it is a private sale, if you are a reseller and asking about items you are thinking of selling ... the preference is that you seek paid authentication.

Thanks for your understanding.

The scarf experts who take the time and trouble to authenticate on this thread do such a super job, and it would be helpful if members are mindful of these rules in order to keep the thread moving smoothly.

Hello authenticators, I am considering purchasing a scarf from a private seller on Kijiji. She claims that the scarf is authentic but I am hoping to get a second opinion. This would be my first Hermes scarf

Item Name: AUTHENTIC HERMES 100% SILK SCARF
NAUTICAL THEME

Link:
http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-...RMES-SILK-SCARF-90-x-90-CM-W0QQAdIdZ580023756

The seller provided me with more pictures of the scarf but she is not able to locate the Hermes c stamp so I am very nervous as I thought all scarves after 1968 have it somewhere. Could I be mistaken? Please reread the first post in this thread for the reasons some requests will not receive a reply.

Thanks you.

Thanks, I thought I did follow the rules of the thread except that it is not an Ebay item. I can understand that you may not want to authenticate without a Hermes stamp. Can someone possibly just answer whether ALL scarfs made in the last 20 years must have a Hermes C stamp? Can one possibly not have it?

If you reread the first post, you will see the list of reasons some requests do not receive a reply. As well, authenticators may choose not to answer requests for their own reasons, as they apparently have done here.

Thanks.

Ok, I am not sure what I did wrong but respect all decisions. Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm new on this forum, and here I am with a Nuées Imaginaires I've just bought on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=291108027036&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:FR:1123

I already have a Hermès Scarf (Les clés), made in a very soft heavy silk. As far as I know, it's not a fake. But now, about this new Nuées Imaginaires, the silk feels crisp, light-weight...

Judging from the design, threading, hem and care label, it looks authentic.

Could it be that it has been washed, and the silk has been damaged ? I'm at a loss, here...

Thanks for your help !

- Elisabeth

sorry, we don't authenticate closed auctions (and for sure not for a member with zero history on TPF)

I'm new to Hermes scarves. I saw this scarf - low price right now - but something about it strikes me as a fake. Can you help?

Item: Hermes Blue & Pink "Qu'importe le flacon" by Catherine Baschet 90cm Silk Scarf
Listing number: 351046615491
Seller: ********
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/351046615491?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

It might just be the photos, but I don't see shadows like I would expect, and the ribbon color has more contrast than the HSCI picture of this CW.

All help appreciated!

Hi - I'd like to offer a suggestion, particularly as you are new to Hermes and to TPF. It is very important to avoid using the word "fake" unless you have the experience to suggest such a thing. Admittedly, you are not an authenticator - neither am I, though I have collected H scarves for...well, decades! The photos from this auction are quite washed out on my monitor, but I don't have the same concerns that you do. It wouldn't be fair to a Seller to have their auctions labelled as fakes by someone who isn't sure or isn't qualified to make that call. Asking for an opinion on authenticity is obviously encouraged, but try to reserve any suggestion and/or judgment until you have more info.

Welcome to TPF, it is a great place to learn a lot...and to be enabled on purchases!! I have one of these scarves from back in the day, mine has a black border, but I love the perfume bottles! Hope one of them works out for you!!

I'm newly addicted to H scarves! Please authenticate this one:

Thanks luvbolide! Great comment. Could not agree more.

musicmom, sorry, but we don't authenticate for people without a contributing history on TPF any longer. Too much abuse.

This also applies for members who may have a few more posts, but are only seen asking for authentication (here and elsewhere).

Thank you so much, luvbolide and dame de coeur, for taking the time to write and welcome me, and to explain the rules of the "club" more clearly. I must admit I felt a bit like I was back in High School when I didn't quite understand what the cool girls had that I didn't, but on reflection I do see that you do need to guard both your expertise and time from those who would abuse. I also hadn't thought about being the seller, so I'm hanging my head a bit here. :shame:

I'm finding this all fascinating, and hope to build both my knowledge and collection in due course. Thanks.
