Dear Hermes Authenticators, I am interested in purchasing this scarf today. It will be my first Hermes scarf :blushing:If anyone could see if it is not authentic, please let me know as I don't want the headache of a return after, especially as this seller is in Japan. How do you do searches on closed authentication threads?

I am extremely sorry that I am hijacking this thread and I'm not in any way an authenticator.
I am just an outsider seeing your profile saying you're from IL. The seller in that listing is also from IL... The scarf was sold on February 22nd, but you waited until March 16th to post authentication request...
Anyway, the issue with silk feel has been addressed many times on this thread, for example:

Whenever I have questions about scarf, I always do a search on this thread or the closed Authentication thread, they're both incredible learning source.

When you have time to visit your boutique, you can try touching the same scarf design, for example, Pique Fleuri de Provence, in different colorways and/or format (90cm vs. pocket square). Or, try this current season black Au Coeur de la Vie scarf vs. the plain Quadri scarf. I'm sure you will feel the differences.

In my opinion, I was very sorry you got ripped off at the price you paid for that Rencontre... Looking at the NW-SE corners of the scarf and at the description by the seller "I dont think this has ever been worn." - it just made my stomach churn. Meanwhile, there's one excellent condition one available on It's All Goode for like forever for just some dollars more. http://www.its-all-goode.com/Rencontre-Oceane-JK052.htm?categoryId=-1

I think this is authentic. Some Hermes have the copyright logo on another part of the scarf. I am not an authenticator though, but have had owned over 20 authentic Hermes scarf.

This is the same scarf, but in the U.S. Thank you again.

Just search it on this forum. You can also google for it with the search terms.

I have this scarf, in a different color though, and mine is authentic for sure, so I think it's real. Please note that I am not an authenticator, just giving an unofficial opinion.

First, authprada may have to have a look at her contributions to TPF and will realize that we won't authenticate for her.
Second, bellycake may wish to have a look at the rules of this thread and stop offering opinions on authenticity.
Thank you for your understanding

Thank you for your opinion , I really appreciate it and I apologize for putting anyone in a position they were not supposed to be in with this thread. As to the starter of this thread, it wasn't really clear I would not be qualified to make a request because I have been active weeks prior to ever posting on this thread beyond authentications :p So I apologize for my clutter :smile1:
