Dear authenticators…

Item: Les Bécanes scarf

Comments: I apologize that I am asking for authentication AFTER buying it. I was so sure it was real, even did research, and then at the last minuteI noticed the accent missing on the first E of “bécanes.” There is a previous request for authentication of this style on this thread, and a link to an eBay discussion about the missing accent, but it is no longer live. The seller has a long history of selling scarves, said s/he referred to a manual of Hermes and known fakes, and did not see this one in it. What do you experts think? I have asked the seller to hold the scarf until I get your response.

Thank you!

1. I don't own a Becanes with an accent on the title, but only have the 1973 version in my hands.
2. I can't see that the seller has a long history of selling scarves as she has decided to make her feedback private (actually, in this auction she made corrections as she got info from another ebayer). She has no idea what she is selling.
3. The pictures are way too poor to say anything. Please post pics when you receive the item.
4. Please ask questions and require pictures before the auction ends. If you decide to have a dispute with the seller, you may need the opinion of a paid authentication service.

This has been an immense help. Thank you! Just knowing that there are versions without the accent is very reassuring…although I know you are not saying it is therefor authentic. Thanks again for your carefully looking into this and checking the seller more thoroughly than I did.

Hi ladies, I'm hoping you can authenticate 2 scarves for me. I've asked for a clearer pic of the care tag on the 2nd scarf, but seller is away from scarf right now. Hopefully the rest of the pics are sufficient to authenticate. Seller won't be back until after auction ends - I believe.

1. Item: 131103125115
Description: 90 BLACK SILK NEW
Seller: sharryn9

2. Item: 321307953976
Description: Hermes silk scarf la vie
Seller: ira2809
Link: http://******/1fnfLs3

Thank you!! :) :).

(Almost forgot the links - sorry) :)

You may wish to ask the seller why the scarf has been photographed using 3 different backgrounds. Ask the seller to confirm that she/he made the pics herself and that she is in possession of the item. A few better pics may help anyhow.

This is a scarf where we need much better pictures, not only the caretag.

Thank you!! :) :).

see my remarks in blue below the respective links.

Just to chime in, here is an older issue of Les Bécanes without the accent. Not sure whether my link will work but one was up for authentication a while back, now posted in the Archive thread.

If the link doesn't work, it's post #6568.

Hope this helps.

It worked and was indeed very helpful. The details not eh authenticated scarf look just like the one I bought, so that's good too.

I will post pictures (for closure) once I receive it.

Thank you all so much for being so helpful and such a treasured resource!
