Hi ladies! Would love some help with this shawl when you have a moment:smile1: TIA!

Item: hermes GM shawl concours d'etriers
Seller: luxury garage sale
Item #: 161206622211
link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hermes-Navy...22211?pt=US_Scarves_Wraps&hash=item2588a9d803

What I see looks authentic. A few more pics would be appreciated to be on the safe side. As they don't accept returns, I would ask for a few more ...

In general: For these big consigment stores, it may be always worthwhile checking whether the have the item in their hands and whether they have made the pictures themselves.

Hello there! Would greatly appreciate it if someone would authenticate this scarf. (Note: If it's real, hopefully the seller will relist if I don't get a response in time to buy it!)

This is a very nice example of how stupid/questionable buyers can ruin a seller's reputation in seconds. The Pierres d'Orient the seller got negative feedback for is authentic. It is unfortunately a sport on Ebay today to blackmail sellers into discounts and if they don't agree leave negative feedback. Sellers have very limited chances to get it removed (and if, it takes forever).

Pricing: especially when it comes to items from personal collections, pricing can be very subjective. There are scarves sellers care about and only sell at a certain price and others, they just want to get rid of. Their ungrail may be your grail. Also keep in mind that this is an auction and that the price may not stay where it is.

I have been buying from this seller for more than 5 years and had always good experiences. The condition was always as decribed and everything I got was authentic. No peculiar smells either :graucho:

Sorry for the long speech.

And yes: the CSMC in black and white from the first edition is authentic. Good luck!

Speeches/lectures are always much appreciated by those of us who are trying to learn more about spotting fakes, reputable sellers, selling ourselves on eBay. It's great to have you as a resource.

Thank you very much for your advice and reminder to beware dodgy buyers as well as dodgy sellers, Dame de coeur. And I'm glad the scarves don't smell! ;)

I don't know cashmere 140s. In fact, I was communicating with the seller from Canada with the Vie du Nord that you confirmed as not authentic earlier this month, but she would not provide additional pictures. Your help with this one would be much appreciated. I need to be cautious with Germany.

This is authentic and I can absolutely recommend this seller as I have purchased scarves there myself.

Good on you DDC. Well written truth.

Thank you very much for the last authentication. Unfortunately, I was too slow. I have just stumbled across this new one. It has now ended, but will likely relist.
