My thought is that if someone has purchased a bag, and feels it may not be authentic after the sale, they are right to come here, using the proper format of course, and ask for authentication. At least it may give them some recourse with the seller and/or their credit card company.

If the bag was authenticated here before the sale, unless there are errors the buyer can point out that are different from the listing, I would expect the second request to be ignored.

This would be a good way to proceed IMO.

I just wanted to make a quick comment to you all...

We all really appreciate what you do to authenticate any and all Hermes requests in this thread. There are reasons why a member may have been asked by a mod or admin to post pictures in this thread. As one of your Hermes mods, I just ask that you handle the authentication in the same fashion as you would any other request. It helps us a great deal!

Agree with first scenario and exactly for the second. It has been done already.

Though, I will say, I think the preference of those members working the thread is that this is not the case in scenario #1 So much better all around for these things to be spoken about prior to money changing hands. Gets a bit messy at that point.

Exactly what I was trying to say in my own convoluted way.....thank you, G. :flowers: It's just messy if authentication is done after the fact. And sometimes embarrassing for the buyer in such a public forum.

Agreed! Please understand that this thread really serves a multitude of purposes for the PF, and while we welcome anyone to post their request, an authenticator is free to simply ignore the request just as the poster is free to ignore the advice offered.

I agree with what GK has said as well, but unfortunately people buy bags in haste and realize after the fact that they may have made a terrible decision. The PF, through this thread, provides an excellent resource for those who are in this position, and can ultimately result in the person getting their money back or other redress. I just don't see how we could limit this thread to just pre-purchase authentications, nor have we done so in any other subforum that i am aware of.

Cannot agree more! Messy is right! Getting your money back is a stressful nightmare for anyone! And more stressful because with Hermes the sums are big $$.

So ******************, buy later!! New motto LOL!!
;););)

Now where is that picture of the Martini's!!

We have been saying that for quite a while, but human nature being what it is...Sometimes the BIN button just jumps up and touches a person's finger:p
