We have been saying that for quite a while, but human nature being what it is...Sometimes the BIN button just jumps up and touches a person's finger:p

LOL! Yeah, well Gracie, somewhere along the road the idea of personal responsibility has flown out the window. This is the "I want it now!" generation. And, if you get screwed, someone else is to blame.

Sorry, I know, totally off topic. Mods, feel free to delete.

Hi ladies! Can someone please help me authenticate this JPG SB from this resellers site? TIA! :balloon:

Please can you follow the correct format when posting here.

I see from your avatar that you are in Malaysia. This seller appears to have a bricks and mortar store in Malaysia, and perhaps you are familiar with them and their local business reputation, and can visit the store in person.

I do not own a JPG and do not care to comment either way about this particular bag.

I looked quickly at some of the other Hermes bags they post and they look OK to me, but some of the leathers and some sizes are incorrectly described. I do not speak Malay, and some of the explanations are in Malay.

My conclusion sitting here so far away, would be the same as S'Mom's, to pass.

This would be even more so if you do not feel comfortable going to the store and authenticating the bag yourself in person.

I don't know, I'm very confused about where to post so please don't be too mad at me if I've screwed up by posting here, I need and appreciate your help. Here's my original post:

Hello all, I am jumping in this thread and hope that I am in the right place having read the rules several times. It's interesting to note that many posters here moniter ebay sellers. Well, I'm an ebay seller who is in a pickle at the moment. I received a "Hermes" bag from a consigner who would like me to sell it for them. After spending much of this afternoon researching this thread and other sources, I'm about 99% sure this bag is fake but because it's unique, and the consigner is so insistant that it's real, I thought I might pass it by you all. I don't ever want to be accused of selling a knock-off, ever. I am posting photos and will add that this is a cotton-polyester twill, herringbone bag with what seems like leather trim but I think it's plastic - hard to tell. It's a very large bag and I was told it is a "golf" accessory bag. There is a towel in the bottom zipper compartment that is also labeled Hermes. Please tell me what you think - and thank you very much in advance. I should add that there is no date under any strap; there is no other signifying marks other than the ones that are indicated in the photos and hence my deviation from the format. Please forgive as your help is so important.

I agree. I can't help but think that members who question the authenticity of a bag reveal are most likely the same members who authenticate in this thread.

Perhaps there is another way to address this issue as S'Mom suggests?

I see that jag and kb have addressed the other points brought up regarding after-the-fact authentications, but I do want to just add this in response to the bold type above. We get PMs from members who are not usually seen on the AT at all....sometimes from people who rarely post. If we get several messages about a reveal, we have this procedure that we follow. Is it perfect, absolutely not. And sometimes its just a matter of how the bag is photographed.

It is a huge and sometimes in-elegant job to try to keep this site counterfeit free, sometimes its awkward (like now), and sometimes we make mistakes, but that's the best we can do at the moment.

Its what we do and we appreciate your help and support

firefly, while I empathize with your situation, and being new, I must ask you to please go to the first post in this thread and use the format embed your images in the post.:flowers:

You will have to use two posts to do this. I looked at all of them and I am not familiar with this piece at all and am :confused1:

But I would not ask any other authenticator to have to toggle back and forth between the pictures and the PF to look again, KWIM...and I would like you to be able to get an opinion this.

For the first part of the format, you can just say n/a

Item: canvas and leather (?) sport bag
Listing # n/a
seller n/a
Link n/a

And then put the photos in the post(s) using the paperclip or little yellow icon above.

A link to photo instructions is provided in the first post of this thead.

Thanks.

I think I've seen this style before...either on bluefly or at the sales. I'm not authenticating, but have definitely seen this before.

It is reminiscent of a Sac Golfeur, I thought I had seen it before.

I found this link to a picture (appears to be a reputable site)

http://www.firstluxe.com/marques/hermes/sac-vestiaire-golf

I have never seen one In real life. I do not know. I think you could do a GraceKelly suggests, this bag could be a Golfeur, I never saw myself a Hermes Paris stamp like the one you posted. The internal tag yes, but I cant see it clearly.
