I am not a gucci expert, however I do own an authentic vintage gucci w/the small g's in this color, it is hard to tell from just the one photo, but the color of the leather does look right. It should have a tanish/beigeish lining.(it is a soft suedish type lining that usually has some peeling to it in gucci's of this age) Also it should have a tag on the inside as well. Mine is a leather tag of the same color as the leather on the outside with a gold metal looking lable on top of the leather tab that has symbol and Gucci and underneath the Gucci in smaller font all caps is the MADE IN ITALY. Mine also has the gold interlocking G's on the front on a piece of leather like the one you have pictured. I hope this is of some help to you.

from the last pic, it seems that there isnt a serial number in there... could this be one of those bags that were pre-serial number?? hmm, hope someone is an expert in these vintage babys.

I am not an expert on vintage gucci's (although a big fan) however something does not look right to me about this bag. It seems to look like an item from the accessory collection which was in the 80's. I would ask whoever is selling it what timeframe it is from, to my knowledge the brown accessory collection items were lined in a tanish/beigeish color, and the color on the brown leather seems darker than most of the items from this time period (just my opinion). Also most of the items from this time period that I've seen have some kind of inner tag either a leather one with Gucci accessory collection stamped on it or a paper tag with green & red & goldish colors in the top portion says gucci and on the botton portion of tag says accessory collection. Just my opinion, not sure if it helps.

thanks for your response krippy. now i am afraid i rushed into buying this bag :sad: i hope an expert would be able to tell me soon, or i will go crazy! hehe. also, does anyone know where i can get a bag authenticated in new york? thanks!

Sweetpeas.....I happen to have the original of this bag and this is a fake...and a very bad one. The leather is much too dark, and the G's in the front are all wrong. The zipper in the back would never be that cheap and the inside is all wrong. I'm sorry. I happen to be old enough to have owned some of these vintage pieces from the 80's and early 90's. Doesn't make me an expert...just old!

oh because here in switzerland hey dont sell that bag anymore, for some reason,so thats why i want to buy one on ebay.

thanks anne.. i will take your word for it and cancel my check before the seller can cash it. And to think i had a great find :sad: can;t believe that there are fake vintage bags! but, you saved me $100 (if i am still able to stop the check, that is.)
