Please Help Me Authenticate This! Gucci Accessory Collection
What do you think of this? It a Vintage Gucci Speedy Shoulder Satchel Bag.
The leather tag reads Gucci Accessory Collection - Made in Italy" with Serial Number on the back (010-378) There is no paper tag underneath.
I though it was real at first but then I looked a little closer. I wanted to check with the experts. Thanks in advance.

You can look on the Gucci website under "classics" I think this is supposed to be the Pelham Med, which retails for $1455, now I could be wrong, but I dont think this bag has gone on sale yet, I dont think you could get a new one for $299, I suppose it is possible, even so in my opinion the leather looks off on the one from the auction, and in general it looks off in my opinion....Anyone else have an opinion?

I agree. This style in the brown leather trim hasn't gone on sale. I am leaning fake as well.

I think I was misunderstood here or I didn't explain myself well enough. What I meant to say is that the brown GG canvas and black gg canvas belt bags are classic colors. I have seen them in the stores, yes. But I have never seen them go on sale as in discounted, sold less than retail. I've seen belt bags go on sale in seasonal colors, like the teal. So I wanted to reinforce that I would not buy any brown or black monogram belt bags on ebay that claim to be brand new but at a much lower price than retail. I hope that makes sense?

I tend to agree w/mssmelanie on this, especially if this color hasn't gone on sale, very unlikely(possible, but not likely IMO) you would get one for much less than retail unless it is used.

Although I am not familiar with this particular bag, IMO it has all the classic traits of a vintage Gucci. The leather looks right IMO, the inside tag looks right...Not all Accessory Collection items had the vintage looking paper tag underneath the leather tag. I had the brown vintage what is referred to as the "doctor or speedy" style bag, and it was authentic. It did not have the paper tag underneath the leather tag. Not all of them do. I think the earlier ones did. Also, the Accessory Collection was around in the 80's & some that had the paper tags have come out (due to age) & I have heard of people cutting them out as well. Not sure if this helps...hopefully a little:smile1:

Just an observation...this same style bag sold on Jan 16 for GBP 79.99 (US 156.76) with same exact photos...that is a red flag, IMO...& not enough photos, even so, w/out additional photos, I dont like the way it looks...and I dont like the way the previous bags they have sold looked...Just my opinion, maybe someone else has some input:smile1:
