Hello! This is my first post in this thread and this will *hopefully* be my first Fendi!!! The bag is from Ann's Fabulous Closeout and I will include the link and also extra photos that I asked for. Please let me know if I need anything else!!!

THANK YOU! :D

Hopefully you can see the above link!
I have seen this sort of bag before & simply say I don't know for sure, but there are enough things that are not traditionally aspects of FENDI bags, that I would not personally feel comfortable purchasing the bag. I did not collect FENDI bags until 2006 and the vintage ones I have in my collection or on file are unlike these pieces in many ways. But I can't say the bag is not authentic either, since I did not collect bags during the early years when this would have been produced. YMMV. ;)

Even though I am super disappointed, thank you for your honesty! I REALLY appreciate having somewhere safe to ask these types of questions and I am grateful that you are sincere enough to say that you are just not sure!

I have 1 more teeny tiny question though....do you know of anyone that I could send these pictures to who might be able to tell me with a little more certainty? I'm not sure if CarolDiva does Fendi, but maybe you know of someone who actually has this bag? If not, no biggie but I figured I'd ask :smile1:

I was under the impression that Ann's was pretty much a place to find authentic bags and I am SO glad that I checked on here first because I would never ever want to have a counterfeit item. I am beyond disappointed, especially since this would've been my first Fendi and I've been wanting to break into new territory for quite awhile now ;)

Because I don't know of any reliable collectors from the era that this bag indicates (2000-2001 season?) I would not trust an authentification service on it, esp not Carol Diva or MyPoupette. Some authenticators simplistically think that serial #= authenticity....that is not true by any means on a FENDI - nor is the existence of a hologram tag. FAKESPOTTERS can authenticate FENDIs, but believe this bag may be outside their area of expertise (vintage) also.
I would personally suggest finding a FENDI bag elsewhere that fits the typical characteristics we see, whether it is a Baguette such as this or MAMA bag or other style. It is extremely unusual to see a FENDI bag that is not properly Lined like this one (unlined ones, like some totes, Baulottos, etc are still properly finished), or has a round snap like this one, or screw heads like it. But FENDI has produced so many bags over time, it is impossible for us to document aberrations over an 80+ year history of designer bag production.

With all due respect to Ann's - I can't say it is not authentic either. I just don't know 100%. :smile1:

Thank you for your quick response!!! Again, I appreciate your honesty and truly, once I saw the inside I was a little confused myself. That's really the main reason why I wanted to have you look at it. IMO you are the best and without your approval as authentic, I just don't see myself purchasing a bag and truly believing it to be real! Thanks again and I will hopefully have another bag for you to see soon! Since I was *almost* a Fendi owner, now I MUST get one :D
