Why so many people sell fake bags and say it is authentic? It seems like 80% of the time the "authentic" are fake. I am looking to buy a real bag for a good deal. It never happens. eBay is a big company; however it is just a black market!

I keep reporting fake bags, but EBAY does nothing. I also contact Resellers about their fake bags, and they do nothing.

Ebay makes too much $$ on the fakes and takes too little effort to "police" the submissions, so do many resellers. :lecture:

They (ebay) think that by restricting the # of designer bag listings per seller, they are preventing the flow, but the fraudulent sellers just work around it with multiple IDs and the ones selling bonafide authentic bags are prevented from listing their collections because EBAY restricts them. :nono:

Finally, and I apologize if I am a bit gruff & vocal about things, we have online "AUTHENTICATORS" who tell peeps they can authenticate FENDIs and don't know or understand how to determine authenticity on this line and sign off on FAKE bags -- many that are blaringly/obvious replicas to those who have any sort of discerning eye. This upsets me as much as those selling the Fake bags! :noggin:

Sorry about all the RANTING! But I had to get up on my Soap Box this morning as these facts have become more apparent to me after seeing this obvious FAKE FENDI SPY BAG listed at $1399:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200597800618&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Being sold by a well known Reseller (LINDA's STUFF) who states: "Everything we sell is Guaranteed Authentic. We authenticate every item on our site before it is listed."

Who is signing off on this Crap?!?!:pout:

Depends on the Seller. Many are scammers and others may not even know their bag is fake. Purchasing from a online retailer that claims authentic. the market is flooded with sites that sell fake bags. Not just ebay. Ebay seems to be slow to tkae down many of the reported fakes, I have seen many listings that never get taken down. even listings that have stolen pics. Fakes that are not limited to just Fendi.

:goodpost: And if someone purchased that bag and didn't get it authenticated correctly they would end up unknowingly buying a Fake. Very sad.

I did send her an email via the listing...but this is not the only "questionable" bag she lists & on other listings she says Carol Diva has authenticated them. I am not sure that is true, but after we had another member submit a Fake Spy bag & said Carol Diva stated it was authentic, I am really wondering who to send peeps to for authentifications?

is http://www.fakespotters.com/2.html doing OK? Anyone with experience, LMK....:wtf:

Thanks for your response and baglady. I own 2 "authentic" bags bought from eBay awhile ago. I was very naive at that time and believed in everything the sellers said. I did not get it authenticate until later. By then, eBay and paypal did not do anything (45days limit on open complains). I even complained to the federal online fraud, but did not hear anything from them. I was really upset with the sellers and ebay, even thought about getting a lawyer. I work in the industry that I don't lie to my customers. I know there are many victims out there, not just me. We need to stop this. If there is anything I can do within my ability, I will do it to stop this going.

Not sure about fakespotters, to my knowledge Carol Diva's expertise is with LV.

Don't get me started, I've been dying to rant about this for a while! Linda's stuff is horrible! I purchased two Fendi bags from her and when I got them home both were FAKES! I wrote a scathing letter to them because before I bid on them I emailed Linda's Stuff multiple times to guarantee authenticity and was assured over and over again they were genuine, LIES! I did not mess around and opened a claim with ebay...of course Linda's gave me a full refund blah, blah...they always do...which is even more annoying because they KNOW what they're doing! They just hope the buyer doesn't notice and trusts them! Then not two weeks later BOTH bags were relisted of course as genuine! I was so burned up! I feel so sorry for the people that bid on those 2 auctions for 100s of dollars! I LOATHE LINDA'S STUFF...I've since seen some more fake Fendi's & YSL bags listed from her! PS Carol Diva doesn't know jack either always get a second opinion if you are unsure. Thank the lord for TPF....Thanks for the rant I feel much better now!
