I had this Fendi vintage portfolio/document holder, as a vintage it does not have a serial number only the fendi name printed all over the fabric and the leather trim around it, the pulls of the zipper are not Fendi, like the vintages...stitches are even, but I need to be completely sure about it

thank you!!!
Not getting the warm & fuzzy feeling about this piece, but I would need a lot more close & clear pics of all details including zipper pull & underside of zipper, interior compartments, close up of Logo markers/hardware. My gut does not feel good though. :smile1:

Thank you BLady, but i have a little problem: a guy said me that bag is fake because the serial number is wrong. She says all fendi patent bags have the code like 8BT137 and this have 8BT138. Pls can you explain me why is different?
Please advise who this "guy" is and what authority he has to make such a statement...!
The code 8BT138 is simply a STYLE CODE which has nothing to do with patent leather, it has to do with the bag style (Baguette) and it's size. Here is a listing of the same bag (different color) with code BT138 from a site that sells Authentic FENDI: http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-S...ather-Extra-Large-Clutch/3261694/product.html

BT137 is a baguette style code also, but smaller in size. Here is one, it is 15.5 inches wide, unlike the BT138 which is 20" wide: http://www.styledrops.com/archive/handbags-32029.html

Hi all. Please help me authenticate this Fendi backpack. It's roughly 10 inches wide and 12 inches high. There aren't any inside stickers or nameplates, but there are numbers on the backside of the snap that closes the flap to the bag (see photo). All hardware is goldtone. If any more photos are needed, just let me know. Thanks in advance. :smile1:

Hi again. Here's another photo. This one is of the inside lining. I've had this bag for at least 10 years, although it wasn't new when I got it -- the previous owner was a good friend. Hope this info helps. Thanks again. :smile1:

Need to see clear, close up pics of the serial number on the lining of the inside zippered pocket...

Just double checked, and couldn't find any serial number on the lining of the inside pocket -- or any other part of the inner lining. Also checked inside the side pocket, nothing there either. Does this mean the bag is fake, or perhaps pre-dates the numbering system?

Serial stamps go back at least 10 years. Hang on for BL1 to take a look, she is good with Vintage Fendi. :smile1:

Ok, thanks, I'll wait. I've had the bag for at least 10 years, and it's definitely older than that. While scanning over the bag (looking for the elusive serial number), I found 'Fendi' inscribed on two of the back strap holders (see attached photo). Really hope this helps. :smile1:

I don't think it predates the numbering system (before 1980s). It looks really new to me for being as old as you say it is. I can't really say for sure that it is fake, but not getting the warm fuzzies about the bag either. Can you provide more close ups & pics of the bag including full interior photos, grommet close ups, tie drawstring, underside of zipper, stitching details. Is the interior lining shiny? Does it have a metal plate of any sort inside with the logo on it? Is the fabric exterior thick & sturdy or light weight?

PS: I have seen bags with the same sort of LOGO design before that have had the serial #. Also there are some other things that look "off".
