Yep yep yep! The links should look dark and dirty (now this doesn't apply to some models of the Gaucho...the metallic ones - and most of the Fall '06 Gauchos - tend to have links that look rather clean). The links shouldn't look pale and clean, nor should they looked orange.

Hi again Nekopanda!

Both these Gauchos are fake, and as you pointed out, the links are one of the "fake" details. Actually, the washed leather looks really inaccurate...the authentic versions have a very uniform rich black color, whereas the one in the pics looks very faded and streaky. The texture also looks a wee bit vinyl-like (it seems to be really smooth and devoid of all graining patterns of leather)...the real one looks like leather that has been treated with a nice waxy finish (but not plastic in appearance). Also, the two metal studs below the Dior logo on the front belt buckle are exposed (and they are not on the real one).

As for the second one, Dior's face is the biggest giveaway. Notice how his face is really smooth (or at least the way his skin is portrayed?). The real coin has many indentations in his face, which appear to look even more pronounced with the vintage effect that these coins are given.

oh i think i saw that auction before and posted it here. it's a fake, particularly due to the misalignment of the dior stamp and the interior lining.

Hi Icecannons!

I know that it's possible for Thai (and other Asian) sellers to actually deliver authentic goods, but it is best to bid on this one with caution.

As for the bag in the pictures, it's an authentic bag, and was really a limited edition. But will they actually send you the exact bag in the pictures?
