Are you looking at style 1434?

If so, it could be lighting, flash or soiling that might make one bag's colors look different from another.

Here's another. The colors are the same colors but this one appears more vibrant:

This is slightly OT, but the patchwork pattern on the wave bags is slightly different from many other patchwork bags.

Some bags have front and back with identical pattern placement.

On the wave bags, the front and back are mirror images of each other,

I ended up buying it for $40 after shipping. Thanks for the info! :D

I noticed that one yesterday - the stitching at the base of the handles isn't quite right. It's probably not a clear enough problem to be reportable but anyone thinking of buying it needs to hit the Back button.

I AM reporting it, and the problems really are subtle. The big thing is the stitching on the main part of the bage at the bases of the straps and the width of the straps themselves. Here's exactly what my report says, compare the fake to the genuine one I mention in my report:

serial number in listing has a known fake prefix J8Y-, stitching on the base of the handles is the wrong shape and should be "flattened" on the bottom edges, handles are too thin and not stitched right, stitching all over esp. around the base is sloppy with overlapping stitches, also uneven stitches - see the close-ups of the stitching around the bases in pictures 1 & 2. The top of the bag in pic#2 also has really sloppy stitching.

Stiching on the top leather zipper pull is also a mess, the contrast stitching is too light, and the strap handles are too narrow, they should line up at the base with the stitching on the body of the bag.

Here's a genuine one:

Unfortunately there's another fake listed by an experienced seller with similar problems and the same J8Y-9303 serial number:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTHENTIC-C...314?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item19e9a402aa

ETA - and here's another fake with a totally fake creed, nothing about it is right including the formatting and the wording, please report:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-C...572?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item338ba2fc6c

ETA - below is a pic of a genuine bag to show what I mean by saying about the fake "stitching on the base of the handles is the wrong shape and should be "flattened" on the bottom edges..."
I wanted to update that debbieb208 has relisted the fake J8Y Patricia bag for the SIXTH time.

Is this authentic? I think I see x's instead of k's in the creed. TIA

Do you also see the serial number, 308-9875?

From Hyacinth's post here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...enticity-questions-94198-37.html#post18503288

This is about 1/2 way down the post:

308-9875 - another number popular with the crooks

I'm also seeing "full CRAIN leather", and there's no "o" in the "No" in front of the serial number.

Well I'm bummed! The guy at the Salvation Army didn't hold the bag for me. :(

I did however find another one at Value Village today after work. It's a bit scuffed up, do you have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I looked online briefly and saw there was pewter coloured shoe cream available, do you think this would work?

And could you please tell me if you think this is a real Coach. It was only $17.99 and I can return it if need be. :)

Great deal! I liked the other bag, but this one is much better! It is from the FP store (not that there is anything wrong with the factory!:) ) and limited edition. it is also timeless! And lovely! Good luck rehabing her and please post your questions and results (and even the process) on the rehab thread!!

I think it's okay. Other opinions are welcome.

Thanks!

I can't recommend the first one. We've seen several obviously fake bags with different *9H- creed prefixes, IF the serial number actually starts with F9H- instead of F5H- there's a chance it might not be genuine. The creed photos really aren't clear enough to tell what that second digit is, or to even read the creed itself. It looks more like F5H- to me but without better photos I can't say for sure, and even F5H- might be a problem depending on the rest of the creed stamp.

The second one looks good.
