AUTHENTICATE this COACH!

Consignment stores and some thrift stores don't do any homework when pricing. They see the Coach name and immediately think it is made of gold! They tend to especially overprice signature.

My grape sonoma is the pocket zip nubuc. I paid $36! It was in the glass case but maybe the pricer at Goodwill had never seen a sonoma before.

LOVE the color! I think that's only the second Pocket Zip I've seen in Grape.

Unfortunately there's another fake listed by an experienced seller with similar problems and the same J8Y-9303 serial number:

The red bag above from seller ggerg23 was previously listed back in September, 2013. I saved the picture to my records at the time. The listing was removed at that time and assuming that the seller received the normal counterfeit ebay message, it was relisted with the knowledge that it's fake.

ETA: I knew that bag was listed more recently too! Here's a post from a month ago. ggerg23 needs to do her homework.

The bag in the listing is authentic, although the seller is a bit optimistic about the measurements. It is more like 7 1/2 x 8 x 2 1/2.

Having owned a BC bag, I question this one but I believe there may have been different striped patterns used in her bags. So please wait for other opinions. Also, the I. Magnin store label looks like it's one of those sticky tags they stick on fakes.

The pattern and weave of the fabric as well as the stitching look cheap.

I feel pretty comfortable that the one with the Coach label is authentic. It is from the early 60s. The other one might very well be authentic as well, but I can't say for sure.

Thanks BB and Whateve. I agree that the white one looks more convincing than the beige, however the second pic does show the beige one as having a Bonnie Cashin metal tag in the same position as the white one. There's no close up though.

Haven't decided if I'll bid yet. It's tempting though. I don't have one with striped lining yet.

I really think there is a high probability it is authentic. If you do decide to get them, you could contact either Jed at Coach or the Bonnie Cashin foundation to see if the fabric is correct.

It looks authentic.

Coach always used a zipper that fit correctly across the entire pocket with a stop on one end. On some of the fake Patricia's, there is a leather frame around the zipper because the zipper doesn't fit the pocket. Here are a few examples of fake pockets:
