Hi Whateve thank you for the clarification..It sounded like the problem was that the zip pocket needed to either reach to the bottom of the bag or be attached the length of the bag.. if you could feel & see this bag, heavy pristine &I dont think it was ever used. I pulled out another Patricia from my stack of boxes ..and it looked the same! Happy Dance..yay,yaya! and I dont even need to bathe her!!.all these fakes are making me nutso. I hope you are well! (I havent forgotten about you,I will make you a copy).. I've been in the midst of insanity with GutlessDeb.. Thank you! OK, my husband was right again about my paranoia..but at least I know what the "zipper thang means" HOORAY!! Take Care..chat soon!! Sheri

You're welcome! I know what you mean about the feel of a bag - sometimes I don't need to see the creed to know it is authentic. The bag practically screams quality.

I had a similar experience with an item of another brand. I wouldn't know Hermes (nor be able to afford one) if my life depended on it. Yet at a thrift, I found a real steal of deal on a scarf. It took me several minutes to find the brand hidden in the busy and colorful pattern but I had to find it because it was of a quality, weight, construction and beauty that I knew it was a "winning find."

When I saw "Hermes" and the artist's signature, I gasped out loud in the store - then looked around to see if anyone was staring at this noisy woman. Lucky for me, no one was around.

After doing my happy dance, I paid for it, went to A4U for a professional opinion and found that I did indeed have a genuine Hermes silk scarf, worth over $300.

Yup, you know it when you feel it!

Wow! A HERMES scarf! OOH-LA-LA! that is impressive! Do you still have it? They are CRAZY Valuable & wicked Expensive!! My brother bought one for my mom when he was in Paris in the 1980s, she never wore it because it had one of those Hunting Hawks on it( She has this thing about Birds ~due to the Alfred Hitchcock movie) anyway, she found it again when she was moving house.., 23 years later and never worn... I was able to sell it for 600 bucks. Unfortunately she didnt have the original box. A.HERMES gift box goes for 30-40 bucks.
...gone are the days that any of our Florida thrift stores..at least the ones near my home let anything slip through..It would be worth it for me to drive over to the west coast to get the deals that TPF member(cant remember her name) keeps finding.. A Brand new goodwill 1 mile away, and not one leather bag..all plastic..and I live in the same county as Tiger Woods, Celine Dion, near Palm Beach and the ***** people .I wonder where the rich folk dump their goodies?? Maybe they don't throw anything away..they just build more closets, or another mansion to hold all their stuff!! LOL

This made me giggle. I went to the Goodwill near the "rich" and didn't find anything (granted, I hate the parking lot so I might have already been frustrated). At another GW in a poorer neighborhood, I found a 65th anniversary Coach, 7 for all Mankind jeans, and J.Crew jeans.

Where I live all the stuff goes to a central location & items are doled out all over a huge metropolitan area..so, no matter what area you live in the goods are evenly distributed.
They place the nicer things in glass cases & auction them weekly. The only purse 'buys' I have ever stumbled upon was back in the early-mid 90's when fossil made the heavy leather saddle-bag styles. They donated a lot to Goodwill so I picked up two, brand new for $25.00 apiece. (One still reside in the top of my closet) :)

You would not believe the CRAP purses I find at our local thrift stores. Everything is plastic and so ugly I can't believe anybody bought it in the first place. And everything is expensive, I'm thinking, really, you can charge this much for something and someone will BUY it?

I feel sorry for folks who have no vehicles and have to shop at these places because they have no way to get to outlet malls or places like TJ Maxx where brand new pima cotton sheets are a few dollars more than the thrifts.

Sorry my computer is acting possessed! Either that or my fingers are shrinking.

Oh my goodness....that's great!!!!

no I don't think your computer is possessed..you had to write it twice..because it is double true..I thought the same thing when I went to our new beautiful Goodwill....all the bags were scary plastic crap-ola priced at 14.99 and up!!
Same here. Absolute rubbish. The best thing I found amongst the plastic crap was a small black leather Esprit tote for $2 that I'm going to turn into tassles.

Same here. I see Walmart bags priced higher than they sold for originally. I see tons of things that were free originally, like eyeglass cases. I wonder if anyone would pay for these things. Walmart donated a bunch of mesh bags to thrift stores. Some of these stores use them to pack up your purchases but others have put them up for sale!

One time I was in a thrift store and a woman was buying some clothes. She said they were the first clean clothes she had in over a month. Living in a shelter, she had no way to wash her clothes. That's when I felt guilty about shopping in a thrift store, taking away these things from people who really need them, but I guess no one really "needs" a Coach bag.

Thanks!

I do still have it but I want to flip it.

It's the treasures that they don't recognize or don't find the brand name that are cheap and out on the regular racks with what they think are either fakes or generic brands. Most of the locked up and behind-the-counter stuff is fake too. If it has a logo, it goes behind the counter with a big pricetag and 99% of the time is fake.

Very inexpensive. Well under $10.
