Ok so I had this authenticated a few days ago and I just recieved it! The hardware looks silver! Comparing it to others and even the hangtag it looks silver. I contacted the seller and she said it is of coarse brass and I must be mistaken! What should I do? I don't like the silver. Land this bag was not cheap! Can I crazy? Does it look brass to you guys? I can post more pics if you like, just let me know!! Thank you!!
Beautiful bag!! thats the problem, when the plating goes you either have to leave it alone, which I don't like ..or to make it look symmetrical you have to steel wool off the rest..
seller does not take returns, so if you don't love it, you could sell it...or gift it!! Yes, I would LOVE that Bag as a gift:yahoo:

The hardware on that bag is NOT brass. The description in the 1991 50th Anniversary catalog says "Gold-plated steel frame with knob closure". It looks like the gold plating wore off, and maybe if it wore off in a few places first like the kisslock the original owner probably cleaned off the rest so all the hardware matched. Just swap the brass hangtag chain for a silver-color one and it will look fine as long as all the plating is gone. The bag IS genuine.

Could you get it re-plated?

I assume the hardware would have to be completely removed, which seems almost impossible in a bag of that style. I think the seller should have disclosed that the brass plating had been removed. The listing specifies that it is brass. In my opinion, that is not as described. It still is a beautiful bag though.

Comments: Hi, I bought this Coach bag at a Coach Outlet so I know I shouldn't be concerned, but I received an email that told me it wasn't authentic because it doesn't have a creed stamped inside. Could you clear this up for me! I am worried now! I only put it up because I changed my mind about it and didn't want to drive the 4 hours to return it, but if it's going to cause problems on eBay, I would rather the drive!

Hi, welcome to the purse forum. This has been causing a lot of confusion lately. Up until recently, except for very small bags, all creeds in authentic bags had a serial/style number stamped on the creed. Your bag actually has a creed (it's the leather patch inside the bag) but doesn't have a number. This is because starting this year, Coach stopped putting the numbers on the creeds. Instead, it is on a small label inside the pocket. I don't see any problems with your bag. You might allay some fears by posting a picture of the label in your listing.

Just so you know for the future, you aren't supposed to post a link to your own live listing on the forum as it might be considered advertising.

So sorry! Thanks so much for the reply though! It is a huge relief!
