I think both are fine. I believe the checkbook insert originally came in a wallet because that's not the type that's sold separately as a free standing piece.

That bag is fake. The style number on the creed is for a Willis but the bag isn't a Willis.

Does Goodwill take returns and issue full refunds?

ETA: They have this BS in the listing. I hope you used a credit card if they give you a hard time.

Yikes! I used a credit card or pay pal. I will contact Goodwill. It's such a pretty taupe bag. Waaaah!
I will search the thread for a photo of a real Willis. Thanks.

Hold the phone! It is a real Willis. The dowel is just curved towards the back.

OMG! I was just going to say that.

I AM SO OOOOOO sorry.

ETA: I'm going to contact a mod to request that my post be removed. I sincerely apologize. I f'ed up.

Actually they have a statement in the listing (under the above disclaimer) about their counterfeit policy and what to do if you suspect a fake.

Ok so I had this authenticated a few days ago and I just recieved it! The hardware looks silver! Comparing it to others and even the hangtag it looks silver. I contacted the seller and she said it is of coarse brass and I must be mistaken! What should I do? I don't like the silver. Land this bag was not cheap! Can I crazy? Does it look brass to you guys? I can post more pics if you like, just let me know!! Thank you!!

I received a fake from goodwill online, from one of the online stores that says it AUTHENTICATES..Before bidding I received answers to my questions!!..After I won.??.goodwill completely ignored my emails & requests for return & refund...I had purchased 3 bags, 2 were okay one was fake...
I used to buy multiple bags from one GW site, because their ship price is ridiculous.& they do combine ship...so it made it worth it ,but since that debacle I stopped buying from Goodwill online completely.
Maybe someone else would have better luck if they got fakes.?..maybe they would actually get a response?:noggin: I even called them on the phone..and I was a good customer!!
Another bagslap to them, just because...:bagslap: I can..

The hardware on that bag is NOT brass. The description in the 1991 50th Anniversary catalog says "Gold-plated steel frame with knob closure". It looks like the gold plating wore off, and maybe if it wore off in a few places first like the kisslock the original owner probably cleaned off the rest so all the hardware matched. Just swap the brass hangtag chain for a silver-color one and it will look fine as long as all the plating is gone. The bag IS genuine.

Please authenticate. Thank you!
