I'm sorry, the Janice isn't authentic. The E factory code was never used for the United States, no exceptions. It also looks like the grommets might be silver.I would like you ladies to check for me please.

I'm looking for a briefbag for my dad. I know some of the manly Coach goodies were 3 digit style numbers (ie 532 Organizer Brief) but have never seen an actual authentic creed and am wondering if they slapped a 0 in front.

5265 is a Lexington Brief, it's probably ok but the creed and serial number record shows at least three serial font changes over the first two years for that plant so it's hard to be sure about that one. The others seem ok.
5278 is a Spencer Brief.
Please check the pictures of the third one, the condition is a bit rough.

It appears to be an authentic envelope portfolio #5190 from the late 80s. I love the color!
Don't even bother with the second organizer brief. It is in terrible condition. You want to avoid anything with piping looking that bad.
The first one looks fine but more pictures would help with condition.
The first style number briefs had the 0's in front. This is just a simple explanation.
The organizer brief is rather large. It has several sections and is rather heavy. If you are considering that style, remember it was made when laptops were in. Make sure the laptop will fit in the laptop packet. It is a nice briefcase. The 0544 is a bit narrower and handles a smaller laptop.
When buying briefcases you want to look at the corners, tears in the outer back pocket, and make sure the flap is not all icky looking form being hauled around in the rain. They may look like there are folds or creases if he flap got drenched in a storm.
I would say the older Lexington's are more feminine or may be considered a woman's brief mainly because it is smaller.
