It's authentic. I don't think that is exactly what the seller means. I think it is a veiled threat that if you accuse him of selling a counterfeit, you had better be able to prove it. I'm always surprised at sellers that put negative stuff in their listings, like they are trying to scare away buyers.

I'm feeling bah humbug too! I've been bombarded with so many ads about sales that I've lost interest.
yes, thats exactly how I understood that comment too...and it totally turned me off!!

I don't feel comfortable recommending listings from iconictrends. Too many of her listings use stolen copyrighted stock photos as well as other images that appear to come from outside sources. I have no idea whether any of the seller's pictures are her own photos of the actual items.
Thank you BeenBurned. I was also dubious about her pictures.

Although this seller has some rather HTF Coach keychains, this one doesn't look familiar at all.

Does it look familiar to anyone?

The brand stamping on the first and third ones clearly say "Equestrian" with a registered trademark logo, so advertising it as a Coach is Keyword Spamming. The stamp says "Coach Hide" so they can use that phrase in the description but that doesn't mean it's made by Coach.
I couldn't help myself and took a risk and contacted the seller. To my surprise I received a positive reply and the seller has partially modified the listing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Equ...s-/111530476569?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123

Hi! I just joined the forum (literally seconds ago) because I'm concerned about a Coach key fob that was traded to me in an online swap. The trading member is legitimate so I don't suspect a purposeful scam, but I simply cannot find a single online reference to this particular item.

Google directed me to this forum as a great resource for identifying fakes.

It's a Coach Cow leather key fob, The well-known limited edition ones were black and white, but this one is tan/beige with brown spots. On close examination, it does look real, both back and front.

It's strange that I don't see a single other key fob of this color when I google. You'd think even if it were a fake, there would be another one out there.

Anyone know if Coach ever made a cow key chain of this color?

Pics below.

I don't see any red flags but I've never seen it in brown.

Note that the black version isn't a limited edition although many sellers love to call their items "limited" when it's not.

ETA: I've compared the pictures to my own cow keychain (92775) and even the shapes of the fur patches are identical.

I wonder whether Coach might have made it in brown for the Asian or other international market.

Thanks so much for your input.

It really is puzzling that I can't a single online link or image of it... Do you think that alone is a pretty good indication that it's not genuine?

I don't think so. There are rare items that you don't see a lot of and as such, they won't show on Google if there weren't any postings.

Look at the following side by side comps. I'd be hard-pressed to consider that your item is fake! (Hyacinth's opinion is more than welcome for a second opinion.) The only thing yours doesn't have is the lozenge but hangtags can fall off so that doesn't prove anything.

Again, I don't believe it's fake but would love another opinion.

ETA: in looking at the side by sides, I notice that your cow has longer legs and either shorter ears or your cow has a larger diameter. The horns have a slightly different shape too.

This is why I love side by side comparisons. You can see so many details that might escape you otherwise.
