Thanks Hyacinth and Whateve. No worry, wasnt going to buy. I asked because it just didn't look right and I had looked up the number and a similar number came up fake on the Forum. Found this blog as a result of my search with style numbers. Handy to have along with all the other recommendations from you. Just as a starting point. Would NEVER buy without checking tPF first! There are a few other flaws with the bag, such as the zipper pull. I believe it is fake too.
I don't think it is fair to advise buyers to avoid Coaches with a J prefix. 1/12 of all authentic Coach purses made in the mid to late 1990s have a J prefix. It would be preferable to advise buyers to get them authenticated. I have no problem advising buyers to avoid any bag with a J8Y prefix.

Am I mistaken or does her blog show a fake creed as authentic? The person who started that blog used to be active on the rehab thread.
I doubt it. Do NOT buy that bag.
Serial numbers with J8Y- prefixes are often found in fake bags, and this one has the same red flags we've found in many other fakes including incorrect details in the serial fonts.
If you've checked the Fakes List posted here at tPF and also the one at Ebay written by Daria48, both recommend against buying any Coaches with serial prefixes starting with J and with mid to late 1990s year codes.

It's authentic from 2003.Good evening everyone. I set this up with a sniping service and won! This purse is giving me a retro 70's feel. Gotta dig out my long paisley skirts and get my groove on! I hope it's authentic. I have been slowly warming up to some of the 21st century designs and this is one of them. Can anyone give me more information about this bag. Name, price, etc. I tried the wayback machine but wasn't successful. TIA!
