I've been keeping an eye on messenger bags for my DH for a rehab to give him for Christmas. I ended up switching my search from eBay to my local thrift stores because it's gotten out of control on eBay. Good if you're planning on selling one, bad if you're legitimately looking for a good deal. I've seen messenger bags and briefcases pass $100 very quickly lately.

Am I misreading the style number? I've tried 14900, 14990, 14890, 14880, and 14000 and can't find anything like it.

Most of what I found in this style have a border around the flap, something missing from yours. (There were some sans border trim.)

But another thing that concerns me is the style number. 1XXXX numbers are usually for a full sized bag.

The clutches I've found have 4XXXX numbers, more in line with Coach's numbering:

Regarding clutch style numbers - here's one in Nubuc Embossed Python from just 8 months later with a 1xxxx style number and the Coach name in script on the clasp button:

It's a letter brief #5210. I don't know how desirable the style is but I haven't seen very many of them. I think the size appeals to a lot of buyers. There are only 2 bidders and you said you are one of them. So it seems to me that you are 50% responsible for the price going so high. The other bidder hasn't bid on any other items other than this one. Maybe they really want it!

What's happening is that the 17 feedback bidder doesn't understand proxy bidding. She bids at each next highest increment thinking that's where the bidding will stop (for the time being) and not realizing that her competition put in a high proxy bid and all this bidding is driving up the price.

Comments: I got this cute little bag yesterday. It's in mint condition. Doesn't look like it was ever used. The pebble leather feels very soft. Is this an Ergo Hobo? Would love to know what it's style name is and if it's authentic. There was only one picture on ebay so I asked the seller to take a few more photos including the creed patch so I did get to see those photos. I took a few photos when I got it.

It's not an Ergo. I don't know the exact name but it seems like a Small Zoe.

I have a question, it may not be for this thread but I figure it's worth a shot... since I don't need the black bag shown in my earlier post I was thinking of maybe selling it or possibly trading it plus the new Peyton satchel for any black and grey coach that's somewhere around the size of the Peyton satchel. If I were to sell it, what do u think would be a fair price or where could I possibly go to try to trade them? Also, the black one is vwry worn so the piping would need some fixing. Other than that it's in great condition

I'm not sure of the exact name but it's a genuine Mini Signature Messenger Bag made in 2008.
