Hi, I did get a reply from Jed:

We don't usually identify bags outside of the Coach collection but the staff took a look today at your photos. We don't have this bag in the collection however we have two bags that are very similar with different closures. They are the:

Binocular Bag, 1990 (style #9853)
Canterbury Bag, 1994 (Style #9948)

The Binocular Bag has a springlock closure.
The Canterbury Bag has a turnlock closure.

We weren't able to find the bag quickly perusing the Coach catalogs so I think this bag is likely a concept bag that was not produced (hence no numeric markings below the story patch).

Hope this info is helpful and enjoy your bag

Sounds like a concept bag to me!

Thanks for all your help everyone!

Cool! It's always nice to have something that, unlike a lot of the listings that use the same description, really IS "unique and one of a kind"! ;)

I don't feel good about either of them. The creed on the city bag is too puffy and the font doesn't match other creeds from the same plant and year. Does the back of the turnlock have grooves?

The second bag must be fake. The creed has anomalies and this style wasn't made until around 2000, so it is 6 years too early.

Thank you, Whateve! Atleast they won't continue to circulate! I took 2 pictures of the back of both parts of the turnlock anyway just for "closure" Haha :p

Thank you very much for your time!!! :)

Thanks BB.

I just checked and the fake is still listed despite my reporting it. When I report fakes I mention I verified it as fake via tPF.
Please, if someone else feels like reporting it, it needs it to be done.

Still waiting on the creed for listing #2.
Sometimes high feedback sellers with fakes need lots of reports before the fakes are removed.

So do grooves on any turnlock immediately point to a fake? I've come across this at least a couple of times while thrifting (I always put them back for various reasons, usually because it's priced too high for my comfort level.)
Usually. It is possible that the bag is authentic and for some reason the turnlock was replaced, so there is a slim chance that it could be authentic.

Hello! I have been lurking in the coach section of the forum for quite a while, this is my first post. After reading through hundreds of posts here and learning a lot, I realize that my thrifted Willis is a fake. I'm hoping not to make that mistake again and would like to know if this purse I just purchased is authentic. I have already paid but the seller guarantees authenticity, thanks very much in advance.

ETA: Any info anyone can give me about this style would be appreciated, I believe it is called a demi zip? I was wondering if it is from the Lightweights line, because of what looks like a plastic zipper, but I don't know when that line was made. Thx again.
