Thanks. I am trying to learn. Can you give me some info on what's wrong with the first bag so I know what to look for?

Along with the creed misspellings, most of the details on that bag are just plain wrong, but there are details that an inexperienced buyer is not going to be able to spot on their own. That's why you need to have experts check the bags before you buy.

Just a few other problems:

Coach never made that fabric pattern

the "leather" looks like vinyl

the Carriage emblem is wrong

the stitching is sloppy and uneven

the hardware is wrong, all of it

the hangtag is fake

the lining not only would never be used with a C pattern on the outside but is another pattern and fabric never used by Coach

the serial number is completely fake and every single code digit is wrong and so is the style number. The entire number is invalid and the style number belongs to a sketch pad refill

all the zipper pulls are wrong

the outside pocket zipper has more waves in it than Hawaii's North Shore

To put it bluntly, there's actually nothing right about that bag, sorry.

Please DON'T try to authenticate Coach bags yourself. Ask here first.

There's no way to authenticate that bag because three of the 4 pictures are stolen stock photos and the last picture doesn't show enough to even know if it's a portion of the same style bag.

Never buy items where the seller doesn't show her own pictures of the actual item.

The pictures are stock pictures rather than pictures of the actual bag so there is no way to know what you'll actually get. Without pictures of the actual bag including one of the creed, we can't authenticate.

All the pictures in that listing except the one on the far right were stolen right from Coach's website illegally and without permission. There's no way to know what you'll actually receive and no way to authenticate anything. One single picture of a piece of hardware that may or may not be from the bag being sold is useless for authenticating.

From now on please ask for authentication before you buy, not after.

sorry. wrong listing.

If you're the seller, you need to know that items have to be authenticated before listing them.

On this subforum (unlike some others), we usually authenticate any items posted since it protects both buyers and sellers if our authentications prevent a fake from being listed and subsequently sold.

If you do come to request authentications, post only pictures without any mention of selling. And again, it needs to be done before a listing is posted since sellers must know that items are authentic before listing.

Hi, sorry don't quite know how to start a thread here...but I was wondering if someone could help me. I have an older Coach purse. Kind of in the style of a binocula/spectator bag but smaller and with a medium losbster claw clasp closure rather than a turn lock. It is 10" wide, 3-1/2" deep and 6-1/2" tall. The stamp says made in New york city, the strap buckle looks good (No "Solid Brass") emboss, the tag looks good, Coach leatherware, all solid brass pieces. BUT...It has No serial number, not even faint, and the main body leather is suspect...feels somewhat pleather or very soft leather. Please Help. Looking for authenticity first, then a name if possible. Thanks in advance! I'm including pics.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will remember that for next time. Here are some pictures of the bag that I took. I did not know of this site until after I purchased it.

Thank you again,
Kristin
