I messaged the seller about the brown vertical line in the last pic and she said she hadn't noticed it but it came off with a damp cloth. I wasn't sure if it was a slice in the leather. I am also hoping the issue with the serial number is okay since I bought another Costa Rica purse with the same problem. Thanks.

It's genuine. And sometimes the serial number prefix digits got scrambled. It's a genuine Roswell Satchel.

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard of!

In encouraging and forcing you to open a dispute, she's getting a defect on her account, something that puts her another step closer to never being allowed to sell on ebay again!

Had she just accepted the return (as required by ebay policy), you'd be a happen buyer and her account wouldn't be dinged as a result of a dispute.

You might want to refer her here or to the ebay subforum where the policy can be explained to her.

ETA: liz7627 is also cheating the honest sellers who have return policies and honor them. In having a return policy, ebay gives sellers increased exposure for their items. She's not allowed to take advantage of that increased exposure and then cheat the buyers who want to return.

She needs to be reported to ebay.

That bag was made in 2002. I don't see any problems. I don't know what info you're using but it's definitely mistaken. I hope you didn't report it?

The first one is a complete fake - please report.

Both the Sheridan Monticello bags are genuine. The creeds are from different years.

Comments: The serial number font looks squished, the creed is puffy and the bag just doesn't look right.

The puffy creed is a dead giveaway. You'll never find anything like that in any pre-China bags.

Why is she referring to it as a style 9980 when the serial says 9952? 9980 is a Taft Bag.

The Creed's Coach logo is too big & the border is much too wide and the D4G- prefix is the same as one in a fake Willis that she listed.

It's fake. I've never seen an authentic bag with a K3H prefix. Most likely the H plant wasn't in operation in the US in 2003. The K3H creeds always have that very thick font that was never used on any authentic creed. Many of the bags with this prefix are very good copies with hardly any mistakes. In this case, the lining is wrong. It should be tan signature.

It's fine. I've seen that type of leather on authentic bags quite often. It isn't the same as the elephant skin we see on fakes.
