Comment: I saw the previous posts about purple bags and wondered if this was one of the authentic ones?

Yes it is. It's a Beckett zip 9920.

ETA: obviously not from the 80s as the seller says

Thanks Whateve. I tried to bid on it just before it ended a short while ago but blocked. Darn it!

Blocked? As in you're on the seller's BBL? I wonder why.

ETA: If it makes you feel any better, the seller had this cached fake (since removed):
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...1552+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox

And this listing, although with an illegible creed has a border around the bottom of the serial number:

Good afternoon! I was thinking about picking up one or both of these pre-owned Coach bags, but was hoping someone could give their thoughts as to whether they are authentic? Thank you so much for your help. I is very much appreciated!!! :D

I think she means blocked as in not in a country the seller ships to.

They look fine.

Ah, okay. Thanks. It's not a seller I'd recommend anyway.

I was thrift store shopping yesterday and found this bag (inspired by Joodlz :smile1:). I could not get pictures to load from my cell to check with you guys. I did have one of the fake numbers list saved on my phone though and this number wasn't on it. I bought it anyway just in case.

Item: Coach handbag

I own now

Comments: I couldn't find much other than railcars when I tried to do a quick internet search in the store and not much better after I got home. The leather is glove soft. I don't know if this is bad or good but wanted to mention that in case that plays into the authentication. Not vintage if it was made in '99. I did find this:

http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/kyounokura/item/46201559/

Also, it has a bulls eye stamped into the Coach creed rather than the blank space beside the stamping.

It's authentic. It's from the Bleecker collection.

I'm wondering about that Rakuten site. Does anyone know anything about it? (It seems like it might be the Japanese equivalent of Amazon.com.) I found a Prada bag from a thrift store on there that I bought almost a week ago. I'm still waiting for a definite yes or no on their authentication forum but I'm not holding my breath. That's the only place I could find that has a picture of it.

Thanks Whateve once again! :happydance:

Do you happen to know if this had a one sided or a double sided hang tag? It didn't come with one, but I have a couple of extras. It really doesn't make a difference, but I wanted to stay as authentic as possible.

You're welcome. In 1999, the hangtags were two-sided.

Please take a look at this bag, found today at GW, inexpensive . It measures about 11" wide at the base X 9" high x 4" deep. Strap drop 6 1/2". Has 4 feet on the bottom. A signature carryall of some sort? Thanks in advance as always.

Without having had much experience with the site itself, it seems that they sell genuine items and have a good reputation. But like Amazon they probably also deal with a large number of private sellers so fakes can slip through. Please wait for more opinions.

Genuine, maybe a Hamptons Sig Small Carryall, there's no name saved in my files. Maybe someone else has it.
