Thank you! I'm a newbie to Coach, and I was under the (quite probably mistaken) impression that bags that are too small for creeds usually don't have handles. For example, I've got wallets and a cosmetic bag with no creeds, but nothing that looks as finished as the bag in the listing. Thanks again!
Wherever you heard that, it's wrong. Plenty of handle styles such as Top Handle Pouches don't have creeds. It's entirely Coach's decision and they never share why some do and some don't. Always ask here for authentication if you're not sure. There have also been a lot of recent "Mini" styles that are downsized versions of full-size bags and many of them don't have creeds. Styles with "Crossbody" in their official style name often don't have them either.
Just to add further proof of Coach's inconsistency, the Madison convertible hippie is about 10 x 12 and doesn't have a creed. The Bleecker daily bag that is very close to the same size has a creed.Although this bag looks larger than some of what Coach considers to be smaller "accessories" items, there are items with handles and straps, among them, wristlets and top handle pouches."
Keep in mind also that in Coach's keeping with its "the most consistent thing is its inconsistency," some wristlets, pouches, wallets and other items might or might not have creeds. Those with creeds may or may not have serial numbers.
ETA: And yet again, Hyacinth typed more quickly than I.
Coach is more likely to put creeds in smaller items if they are higher quality or pinnacle items. However, the bag in the listing in question is bigger than a MFF bag I own that has a creed complete with serial number. Who knows how they make these decisions.
