Thanks so much BeenBurned & Hyacinth for the info & auth. I wonder if the Olympic items were for retail, or were maybe goodie bag items for participants. Will have to keep an eye out for other pieces, could be a fun, inexpensive subcollection for me :-)

They're in the Holiday 1995 catalog so they were definitely retail items.

Item:Coach Soho Burgundy Suede Hobo Messenger Bag Purse 9482
Listing:http://www.ebay.com/itm/COach-Soho-...285?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item339395f085
seller:tarynlyn7
listing #:221519409285
comments: I bought this exact bag, went over the creed patch letter by letter, my creed #'s all match this one, I can't remember how to get pictures to this thread so this was easier (for me anyway) I found this bag at a yard sale for $2, with the sleeper bag & hang tag. It has a few marks on the suede so will need to do a little cleaning but I couldn't pass up the steal if it's truly authentic. I tried to think of everything you awesome ladies have taught us, but I will feel better with your say so. It feels really nice & heavy so I took the chance Thanks so much!!

The bag in the listing is authetnic but without seeing your bag, we can't authenticate it.

I will say that if the first letter (month code) is the one that's different, although still not definitive, it is probably okay; just made at a different time.

If the last letter of the prefix (first 1/2) is different, again, though not definitive, it might be okay but just made in a different factory.

But in order to authenticate YOUR BAG, we need to see your pictures of the bag.

Item: Drawstring pouchette in blue/gray leather, in my possession
Size: approx 8" x 5"
Creed details: "Made in the United States" #A5C-4144 (+ ink :-P )

Another small xbody found this weekend that I am not familiar with, would appreciate help with authenticity & style name.
Color is also unfamiliar, a gray-blue, any ideas? Interior shot shows it most accurately.

Thanks again from cold gloomy drippy Chicago... is this really August??!!

I don't have the correct style name in my files. I've been calling it a Soho small drawstring pouch. I think the color might be navy.

My patch, numbers, spacing & all matches it exactly. That's why I chose this one. Thanks for your help!!

It's a Soho Littleton Drawstring and the color is probably Chambray. Here's the Spring 1995 catalog pic.

Tho - my dear husband told me he thought it looked like a beer cozy
:: eye roll ::

Is a '41' prefix in the style part of the creed numbers an indication that it's from the Soho line?

Hello,
I would love it if someone could authenticate this bag for me! My mom gave it to me; it had been in her closet for years. I called the Coach online store and they said they did not have the number (No 0818-307) and referred me to this site. They said perhaps it is quite vintage...I hope so! Thanks much.

With vintage bags it always helps to post measurements, and also a picture of the front of the bag so we can compare it to our catalog and file photos. It MIGHT be a Kent Bag but I need measurements and a straight-on picture of the front of the bag to be sure since there are two similar styles with the same front flap.

And I'm glad at least someone at Coach understands that it's impossible to authenticate any bag or other item without seeing it.
