If it were me, I'd definitely put the seller on the Hot Seat and ask her why the description doesn't match the serial number in the photos. The bag in the seller's photos IS a style 378 which Coach lists as a Hamptons Weekend Patchwork Tote - I can't find Coach's measurements but I'll accept the sellers. Style 1481 is a Hamptons Weekend Patchwork SMALL Tote, measurements 8x8 inches. BIG difference!

Pictures of both are below, the 378 on top and the 1481 on the bottom. The pictures aren't to scale but you can see how much bigger the 378 is just by looking at the proportions of the bags compared to the leather hangtags and the Coach Leatherware patches above the front pockets.

BTW, the bag in the listing is genuine.
Thank you. I will ask because I already have the smaller tote and I don't want to purchase this and end up with the same smaller tote. I really want the larger one.

Comments: I really like this type of tote and I really want this but is it authentic? The listing style number does not match the actual picture of the creed. I wonder if this was a mistake. Is the size listed the correct size for the bag?
Bag height: 10

I'll follow Hyacinth's lead and continue the rant.

This is another seller who has conflicting and/or misinformation posted. (Whether the pictures are the seller's own and are of the actual bag, who the heck knows?!?!?!)

The bag pictured is authentic although this is a style that has been highly faked and in many cases, well-faked.

Style 378 (shown in pictures and described in measurements) is a much larger bag than 1481, the style stated in the title.

ETA: Hyacinth is a faster typist than I!

Thank you, sorry I meant madison.

Style 15945 is the smaller bag, I was just confused because I am looking for the larger one. I have seen both 15940 and 16271 used are both staing they are 17 inches. I tried to look through old posts on there to figure it out.

Sorry, was just hoping maybe someone knew which creed was right so I don't make the mistake and purchase a fake.

Ask the seller to confirm the measurements.

And if you need DETAILS on recent bags rather than an authentication, you'll get more information posting at the main Coach forum.

You say the seller has "conflicting and/or misinformation." Does anyone know if this person is a "known" seller who misrepresents? Do you keep track of users who continually post fakes?

By "conflicting and/or misinformation" i mean that the picture shows a creed indicating one style number and her title shows a different one. That doesn't mean that the seller is intentionally lying or trying to fool a buyer. And it also doesn't mean the seller has a fake or sells fakes.

It merely means that the seller is human and made a mistake, didn't proofread or didn't do her homework in understanding the meaning and deciphering of Coach creeds.

I don't see anything in the seller's listings that indicates dishonesty, lack of integrity, sale of fakes or anything else.

As both Hyacinth and I pointed out, the bag shown in the listing is authentic and IS style 378.

Ok, did not mean any disrespect to the seller.

I find that a lot of sellers try to find another bag that looks like theirs and copies the title or information about it, without realizing that it is similar but not exactly the same. These sellers aren't intentionally trying to mislead. They just don't understand style numbers and/or don't know where to find accurate information about their bag.

You called them? I've found it helps to post the fakes in the Hall of Shame on tpf. I don't know if it because more people are reporting or if ebay monitors it, but usually they get removed faster that way.

whateve....I received an automated reply email then a separate email to call using a PIN that I was given. I had to actually talk to someone...is that typical?

It's not typical to call ebay to report fakes. There is an online way to do that - just click on the "Report Item" link on the right side of the listing page. It is typical to get a PIN when you call ebay. It gives you priority to get your call answered in a particular order. I've never gotten a reply email from ebay when I reported a listing, nor a request to call.

I can see now that the listing is changed. Still have not received an answer from the seller about the discrepancy between the listing number and the photos.

It appears that someone (you?) emailed the seller to ask about the discrepancy. The seller removed the incorrect style number (1481) from the title but she changed the title to read "small tote." Style 378 isn't the small tote. It's a larger one.

The discrepancy in style numbers is probably as Hyacinth commented. My guess is that the seller probably searched for a bag that looked like the one she was selling, saw that that seller used "1481" in the listing and assumed hers was the same one.

To the average non-Coach expert, the patterns are similar enough that one isn't apt to notice the difference between them.

Yes, I did email the seller about the difference.
