I don't see any problems with that bag.

It looks like the seller might purchase truckloads of department store returns, damages, shopworm and outdated items and as such, gets many complaints. From what I see of the listings, the descriptions aren't inaccurate but the buyers don't read or comprehend what they see described.

Although there have been cases where trusted sellers who buy pallets from department stores have received fakes (returned by dishonest customers), many honest sellers also get unwarranted feedbacks alleging items are fake when those accusations are totally false.

Check out Coach's own toolhaus and see how many "fakes" Coach is accused of selling! We know that if you buy from Coach, you get genuine Coach!

Thank you BeenBurned for your opinion. And for the other information also--I'm sure you are correct. I also read some of the negative reviews and thought the same thing. How many may not have read the description well enough or thought perhaps it wasn't as bad as they thought, until they received it.

I appreciate your time!

I hope the Google document you mentioned is the Daria48 Fake Numbers List from Ebay, otherwise I'm going to question its validity. That's the only list I use other than the one I've posted here at tPF which is a collaboration with Daria48.

And the most accurate way of sussing out a fake is by comparing it against photos of known fake and genuine bags that you've saved over the years and kept on file. Google is no help there. And the creeds and serial numbers are usually the key to proving something's fake.

There are a surprising number of counterfeits with even stitching and thick leather. In fact when Coach was setting up their Chinese plants the quality of the work for the first year or two was sometimes WORSE than the counterfeit versions.

There are a tiny handful of mid-2000s Coach bags that DO have Signature fabric on both the inside and outside although the outside Cs may be just part of a patchwork design.
It's a collection of fake numbers from here and Daria48's list. I also have a bunch of style numbers with the names listed for quick googling.

Just to add a comment to my post in that link - I said "My deepest and most sincere apologies for anyone who may have had a genuine bag removed or disposed of. I'll try to get the various Guides updated as soon as possible. I'll also cross-post this at the Hall Of Shame and the Answers threads."

Because of the major F***-up that Lithium has subjected the Ebay Forums AND the Guides to, I haven't even tried to correct the original Guide, and wasn't even able to post a new Guide with the updated information. My old friend Daria48 managed to post an updated page since her original Fake Serial Numbers List also had the wrong information on the Bean Bags. Here it is:

Looks like they did remove the listing for the gathered Sophia. I didn't realize you had to send a notification to eBay AND call them! Wow....
You called them? I've found it helps to post the fakes in the Hall of Shame on tpf. I don't know if it because more people are reporting or if ebay monitors it, but usually they get removed faster that way.

It's fake. The creed is "fuzzy." The font doesn't match any authentic G plant creeds. The top of the pocket is too high. There should be a center bottom seam rather than two side seams.
I'm not sure but I think you can see grooves on the back of the turn lock plate too.

OOPS, "eagle-eyes" Hyacinth already saw that !@!

I miss all the pros who used to post at the old Ebay forum. They shared their knowledge and taught Newbies like me a LOT. Too bad a handful of scumbag lowlife psychos and their pet "Uncle" had to ruin it all.

And Daria still keeps an eye on what's going on, but after what happened at the Ebay forums she just prefers to keep a low profile. :smile1:

I'm going to say that this is fake. It's already sold but worth reporting if so. Thoughts?

The stamped Coach logo really looks odd. Not only is it too big but it's not aligned very well with the corner of the wallet, and the border of the cartouche around the name is different in the upper right corner compared to the upper left. The leather edging in the lower left corner isn't tucked as precisely as Coach usually does it either.

I'm not sure if there's enough evidence to report it but there's no way I'd recommend that anyone buy it.

OMG! Their customer service must be atrocious!

However why do buyers leave neutral feedback for things like "it's a good gift for mom"; "I am am very like it"; "Return item, husband already purchased one"; "Return product too small"; "Had to return it, larger than expected" and my favourite "this same bag was on sale two weeks later for a much lower price"
