I got mine at Goodwill in the glass case. Mine's a pocket zip. It was a bit expensive for a thrift store but I wasn't leaving without it! Love purple! :cloud9: Here's picture showing the grape color. I think there was also a color that was more burgundy.

Yours is simply gorgeous...and more purple than mine :( While I was researching Sonoma's, I found this link (http://www.ebay.com/gds/Coach-Sonom...-Leather-Nubuc-Bags-/10000000001593405/g.html) ...now I think mine must be Elderberry as it is a little more reddish. And yeah, I love purple too...it's my last name!

Thanks for the link Joodlz. I can't believe how many styles there are! My small back pack 4938 -which is actually quite big - is the same colour as your lovely find. I don't think all the colours are listed as I have a dusty pink 4935 - my favourite weekend bag - but there's no pink on the list unless it's called something else that I don't associate with the colour.

Please don't steal pictures from someone's ebay listing to post here. Not only is it unethical to steal the seller's photos, the listing has several more photos, which are much clearer than your copied versions, and a description that would help us authenticate. It is also important for us to know the name of the seller. Follow the format in the first post of this thread.

For what it's worth, in my opinion, if it's the bag I think it is, it's way over-priced.

I paid half that for both of mine and they are in very good condition, one was as new. This colour may be HTF but you'd want it to be in excellent condition at that price. JMHO

Yes Fashionstar, please follow the rules and post links. It's no fun getting eyestrain trying to analyze badly blurred copies of photos when the ones in the listing are actually legible. My eyes are in bad enough shape as it is. :weird:

Technically that bag isn't actually considered a Sonoma. It's just a Duffle Sac made of Nubuc. Coach never uses the Sonoma name for it, and lists it separately from the Sonomas in their catalog. It's also missing at least two pieces of Sonoma hardware.

If it's from late 1995 or early 1996, the dusky pink color was called Rose. And no, not all the colors are listed in that Guide.

Thank you for the link! I wish she had identified which colors came in nubuc and which ones were natural grain. I also have a periwinkle natural grain. I love purple too!

Usually a color was only available on one type of leather. So Periwinkle and Tomato are for Natural Grain only, Elderberry, Rose and Grape are Nubuc only. Where it gets confusing is, as usual, all the tan and brown shades. And of course they changed colors every year so pinning them down gets even harder.

Welcome to the purse forum and to Coach!
The first one looks fine. The second one uses a stolen stock photo and doesn't have enough other photos to authenticate.

The listing number is about halfway down the page above the written description on the right hand side.
Thank you very much for your help! I got the first one! I am so excited!

Comments: I unfortunately already ordered a coach bag (a Court Bag which I will later post about here after I receive it) before finding this site, but would like to hear your thoughts on these bags, which arefrom the same seller.

I’m a little concerned because the bag I purchased did not show a clear picture of the creed and serial (both were partially obscured by shadow, though the photo itself was clear), which is something that the seller has done for item #1 as well. Several other Coach bags sold by this person also don’t provide a photo of the creed or serial, and those that do look a little funny to me; see item #2 (spaced kind of far?).

I didn’t have these doubts when I first looked into my own purchase from this seller, but after reading the posts on this forum I’ve gotten quite wary! Thanks for your help!

Is this a picture of a good fake or a good Coach?

yes, that's exactly what I meant about under the flap. I think they changed it when they came out with the spectator version in 2001.
Here's an example of it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Authen...item3f2f7cf6be
The back of the turnlock on the inside of the flap on the fake has grooves around the prongs. A Coach turnlock is smooth on the underside. On some of the better fakes, this is one of the few things they get wrong.
