Comments: Creed verbiage is unusual "glove tanned Leather" as well as the "3" instead of a factory code letter.

Thank you!:smile1:

Here's another one from the same plant and a few years earlier but with an outlet mark. And the "3" IS the factory code. Read the Salearea Guides, not all plant codes are letters.

(Having a terrible posting today, sorry)

I believe this to be a pre re-release Nottingham (?), in hunter green. It has a push lock. Will you please be so kind as to authenticate this bag for me?

Thanks!

The interior creed was taken with flash. I apologize for photo quality.

No, it's NOT a pre-release Nottingham although Coach says it was inspired by it. The Nottingham/Canterbury wasn't released until 1994 and had a different closure, a longer strap, and was larger. This one is a Binocular Bag from around 1990-92 and was style number 9853. The closure was called a Springlock.

Comments: Is this authentic? No picture of creed in auction. Seller sold a purse on July 7, 2014 and used the identical pictures from this auction. The seller does have 100% positive feedback. I googled the coach number 48533 and nothing shows up except a few pictures on Asian websites. Is anyone familiar with this bag? Thanks.

It's hard to figure out if something's genuine when we can't find any other photos of it, although the fact that the same style was shown on the Japanese Rakuten site is a good sign since they have a reputation for selling genuine bags. I don't see anything that would make me think it's fake.

VERY fake - run-together words "superiorcraftsmanshipand" (and there may even be a spelling mistake in there, it's hard to read), that lining was NOT used by Coach and any bag with a full C pattern on the outside should never have C or Logo lining, the Coach logo at the top of the creed isn't right, there's a serious mistake in the creed stitching, there's no serial number on the creed, and based on the other photos you posted at another site, the style itself is fake and was never made by Coach. Get your money back if you can.
I didn't buy it. I knew it was fake. The seller on a local fb site insisted it's real. She was so nasty about it, too! I posted it here and on the EDB just to have the "proof" should the buyer need to see it! Yup, someone bought this for $20.

That's probably still $15 more than it cost to make it, but at least they didn't get scrood over too badly. The seller is either a fool or a crook and should be avoided at all costs though.

They updated the style numbers for some of the classic styles but not for others. The Willis is still 9927 on Coach.com. I've seen some newer creeds on classic bags that have an extra zero in the style number but not until about 2005.

I have some 2001 classic bags that have the old wording but they weren't made in China.

They started using nylon zippers inside some of the classic bags around 1999, and in the Lightweights even sooner.
Good to know! I found a couple of Willis bags not that long ago and I was nervous since one of them had a nylon zipper. (It was the one made in 1999.) Hyacinth already said they were both authentic, but the zipper was a little off-putting.

I don't see any problems with the bag either.

As for the seller having sold another of the same style, that's probably not a problem. If a reseller finds a deal and thinks she can flip it for a profit, it makes good business sense to purchase more than one.

When sellers have NWT items, it's common to recycle the same pictures in each listing. However in this case, most of the seller's pictures from the July 7 listing are a different set of photos. The lighting and angles are slightly different. (The inner lining and the picture of the tags are the same in both listings.)

There are some FB groups that don't tolerate the sale of fakes and will boot a seller who lists one.

Ok here's one I thought would be simple to find a reference image of, but I can't find a single other wallet in this exact style. Could you please authenticate? Has signature cc fabric inside but cannot find a "Made in..." tag any where. Thanks!

Bifold wallet with flap coin pocket. Lime? green with light and dark green stitching, vachetta leather interior.
Measures 5 1/8" x 4 1/4" x 1"

I know what you mean. I found an early 90s bag with a nylon zipper in a style I didn't recognize. It wasn't just for an inside pocket, it was the main bag zipper. My husband talked me into getting it even though I wasn't sure. In the middle of the night it dawned on me that it was a very rare Lightweights style. I'm so glad I didn't pass it up!
