I realize this listing ended but previous and subsequent listings for the same bag were removed. The seller also had a fake Coach keychain listing removed a couple of days ago.

Another of the seller's items was posted on the deals thread but I'm always skeptical of sellers who mix authentic and fakes.

Title: COACH VINTAGE CREAM COLOR LEATHER SHOULDER BAG TAKE ALOOK

Comments: M4N-4143 - Creed states that it's made in US, but AFAIK, N is another country. ;)

I really can't say for sure, the stamping is just too light. The "o' in No looks too big but I don't have ANY valid M4N- serials to compare it to, just an older and apparently genuine E4N- serial but that one has the old style creed and can't be compared that way.

There's one small detail on the base that doesn't quite match the other 4143's I've looked at but it's not enough to CONFIRM this one as fake. But there's no way I'd recommend that anyone buy it - too many questions.

Hello all! Could you please check these listings for me? One of them has had me reading up on the whole "Bean Bag" creed this morning. Thanks!

1- I'm not comfortable at all with that briefcase. If the Bean Bag creed in that one was genuine there's a very limited time period when it could have been made, and there's no briefcase I can find that exactly matches that style. It looks like it's trying to be a Diplomat, but the top of the briefcase is wrong. The serial number also looks like it's been scratched off, there are distinct horizontal and apparently deliberate scratches visible in one photo. I can't prove that it's fake but there are too many reasons why it might not be genuine.

The second and third bags look genuine.

Thank you so much. I too did a search and could not find another bag that matched the briefcase, so I will avoid it. I prefer the other two anyway-- so thanks for the good news!!!

Hello again,
Would you please check this Coach bag listing for me
Vintage Coach Pocket purse #9755
ebay Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251499630828
and I wonder if iPad mini would fit in this bag?

Thank you very much :)

The bag is genuine.

I doubt if your Mini would fit, you might want to ask at the main Coach forum. Remember, Coach bag openings are quite a bit smaller than the given measurements of the bag, and those are OUTSIDE measurements, not inside. One of my biggest complaints with Coach bags is that they're never as big inside as they seem to be from the outside.

There aren't any measurements either which makes it even harder to figure out what style it is. Maybe something from the Lightweight line but again, we usually need to see a creed and serial number to help narrow down when it might have been made. There's nothing we can do without that photo or information, it could be one of more than half a dozen bags and the creed and serial photo is the key to any authentication.

Please post the other photos and the bag's measurements when you receive it.

Thank you very much Hyacinth.:D I'll post more photo of this bag.

I'm now falling in love with the vintage Coach bag, and I'm really happy to meet you all in this blog.

Although my knowledge and experience with older and classic Coach aren't as extensive as Hyacinth's, I do have a large collection of pictures of items I've owned.

Thus, I will comment on the first bag with the bean bag creed.

From what we've seen in the bags that had bean bag creeds but ultimately turned out to be authentic, they all matched the bean bag creeds of the "real" bean bag (fobs). There are differences in this creed that I'm not sure should be there.

I'm not comfortable with that bag either for the following reasons.

1. The font of the text on that briefcase appears different from that of my comp picture
2. The border around "COACH" is slightly different
3. The font of "COACH" appears slightly different
4. "Leatherware" is missing on the briefcase
5. The space above "made in the united States" appears to be slightly larger on the bean bag fob than on the briefcase

I did not like it either but it was too vintage for me to comfortably say so first. :)

I did not like the shape of the bag either. Looks off.

I'm still waiting for the ebay seller to respond to my case and he has till 7/24 to respond. Still no refund back and I still have this fake. I did purchase the one you recomended to be authentic and it's beautiful. Very clean and looks brand new. I don't think it was ever used at all. Thank You very much for pointing me the right way. This seller still has his Craigslist ad up also and hasn't even pulled it.

I took a few photos of them together. Authentic Coach on the left and photo of the authentic Coach bag creed patch.

I was refunded and had to escalate my case with ebay so they stepped in since this seller didn't respond at all. Ebay closed my case and the seller didn't pay me for shipping the fake bag back. What to others here do when your case is closed and you get refunded. Shipping was free so I didn't pay for shipping. Ebay didn't tell me what I need to do with the fake bag.

I love this forum. Have recommended all my Coach and other brands friends to this forum.

Thanks again for all the help.
