I was refunded and had to escalate my case with ebay so they stepped in since this seller didn't respond at all. Ebay closed my case and the seller didn't pay me for shipping the fake bag back. What to others here do when your case is closed and you get refunded. Shipping was free so I didn't pay for shipping. Ebay didn't tell me what I need to do with the fake bag.

I love this forum. Have recommended all my Coach and other brands friends to this forum.

Thanks again for all the help.
It's illegal to traffic counterfeit bags so you would be breaking the law if you returned it. If it was me I would stick it in a cupboard for a while and then if there's been no further communication about it, salvage any useable hardware and destroy the rest. Or poke some holes in the bottom, fill it with potting mix and grow herbs in it. :flowers:

In the US, it's not illegal to send a fake back to the crook who sold it to you.

If ebay didn't tell you to send it back and issued the refund without requiring the return, you aren't obligated to send it back.

As suggested, put it away for a while and if the seller wants it back, she can send you money for the return shipping. But unless and until GRANT_FOSTER92 pays you, don't send it back.

Generally, I'm not a fan of keeping an item for which you've been refunded because there have been instances where scammy buyers have claimed fake for genuine items, thereby making the seller lose both the item and the money, but in this case where the seller (ebay ID: grant_foster92 ) clearly intends to rip off another buyer, I have no problem with ebay's actions.

Hi; I appreciated Hyacinth's positive response to a Coach creed I posted a few days ago and I now have photos to go with the bag. I hope I have attached the photos appropriately.

I have no idea what the name of the bag is. It is already purchased, with the agreement that if it is not authentic, I will return it. I appreciate any assistance anyone can provide!

Thank you so much for your time!

Although my knowledge and experience with older and classic Coach aren't as extensive as Hyacinth's, I do have a large collection of pictures of items I've owned.

Thus, I will comment on the first bag with the bean bag creed.

From what we've seen in the bags that had bean bag creeds but ultimately turned out to be authentic, they all matched the bean bag creeds of the "real" bean bag (fobs). There are differences in this creed that I'm not sure should be there.

I'm not comfortable with that bag either for the following reasons.

1. The font of the text on that briefcase appears different from that of my comp picture
2. The border around "COACH" is slightly different
3. The font of "COACH" appears slightly different
4. "Leatherware" is missing on the briefcase
5. The space above "made in the united States" appears to be slightly larger on the bean bag fob than on the briefcase

I did not like it either but it was too vintage for me to comfortably say so first. :)

I did not like the shape of the bag either. Looks off.

Thank you both for weighing in. Just seems like way too many questionable issues to trust that it could all be a coincidence. I also just went back and zoomed in on the photos and it has piping in brown but the bag is black. Another unusual thing to add to the list of questions. Not worth the risk. Thanks! (and thanks BeenBurned for a real Bean Bag creed!)

Here is a recent find that I feel good about but would like to verify. Also, if anyone knows the style name and number. And is this the bottle green (I have saved a post from Hyacinth from Feb 2012 with several color samples from old catalogues and it's a great reference!) because it's definitely a bit lighter/brighter than my Manor bag that is also green. I mistakenly called the Manor bag Forest Green in my authenticate post but I don't see that as an option in the hangtag "chips" reference.

Measures 8.5" long x 6" tall x 3" deep.

Hi Could you pls help to authenticate

Item: Coach Court Bag
Serial number:D9P-9870
Seller: mjsmicbar
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=141355561305&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
Comments: This one is nickle hardware, which is not usual, because usually we saw brass hardware with black leather in court bag

Item: Coach Court Bag
Serial number:K2P-9870
Seller: rising8
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321328409673?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Comment: On the back and bottom, there are very obvious wrinkle, I don't know whether they are because of normal wear or fake bag(because I used to see this type of things in a fake bag) and is there anyway to rehab it?

Thank you so much!

Both Court Bags are genuine.

Silver-color hardware was available on Court Bags beginning in 1999.

The second bag wasn't stored correctly, that's probably why it has that wrinkle in the front. The back is even worse, you can tell that it was pressed against something that left several different kinds of marks all over the back. You might be able to reduce some of those by giving the bag a bath and stuffing it well while allowing it to dry slowly. The Rescue And Rehab thread at the Coach Clubhouse forum should have many suggestions about removing wrinkles.

It's called a Kimball Zip, style 9911 and made in 1992 or 1993. Bottle Green is also the color listed in the catalog.

It's genuine.

The style was called a Classic Shoulder Bag, style 9170. Although this particular one was made after Bonnie Cashin left Coach, she may have designed the original version since the style itself goes back to 1970. It was called a Classic Pouch in the 1970s and is often referred to by Coach as "the original Coach bag". I'd guess that yours was made some time between around 1980 to 1987.

Hi, can anyone tell me if this coach looks authentic?

http://www.threadflip.com/items/878...&utm_campaign=Buyer Flip Accepted&full_site=1

Thank you!

Welcome to TPF.

Please ask the seller, GinaSlaughter for a picture of the creed patch.

For future authenticity requests, refer to post #1 for the information we need to see.

The seller might have added a creed photo to the listing although it's not very legible. I can see the style number 10986, and what's in the listing photos looks ok.

From what I remember of the Anti-Counterfeiting statutes in the US, "trafficking in" usually means selling or trading for profit. It might be against postal regulations to send prohibited items through the Postal Service but it wouldn't technically be "trafficking". But I agree about putting it away in case the seller wants it back, but if he does I'd contact Ebay for instructions. Like we've already seen, he'd just stick it on Craigslist and try to scam someone else.

ETA - found it:
"(5) the term “traffic” means to transport, transfer, or otherwise dispose of, to another, for purposes of commercial advantage or private financial gain, or to make, import, export, obtain control of, or possess, with intent to so transport, transfer, or otherwise dispose of..." (BOLD is mine)

I had seen that. Probably dyed or shoe polished.

That's great! I really appreciate the information about my bag, especially the name of it and the history. And of course that it is genuine!

Thanks again for your time; you're the best!

Have a great weekend!
