Could someone please authenticate this bag for me. Every single one of these that I have seen online (plus I have one myself that I would like to sell), has 'Made in the USA' on the Creed.

I have seen about six or seven of this style, and they all had made in the USA on the Creed.

Thanks,
Lauren

Hi Gals,

Could you please take a look at this bag for me. It was a last minute impulse purchase as I found it just as the auction was closing. I have my items shipped to friend's home in the US and I finally made it to her place to pick it up yesterday.

Item: Coach Purse F063 10324
Listing number: 151340449251

Comments: All the other listings on ebay refer to this style as - Coach Legacy Vachetta Leather 10324, but the creed makes no mention of Vachetta?

Thanks!

I asked her for one before I posted here and I just heard back. She said there is none. The auction has already ended and I was outbid, so I may have just dodged a bullet.

She listed the size as 11x11 if my memory is right and any bag that size would have to have a creed patch. The lining was a pattern sometimes used in fakes too. Good thing you were outbid.
Yup, it's fake.

The bag in the listing is authentic. That's the correct wording for the text on the creed on that style.

Here's another bag (same style, same month/year/factory) to compare:

Why is the "made in USA" a problem? I don't see anything wrong with it, but the seller should have listed the measurements since it's harder to identify without them.

The other day I had a bag authenticated and it was a broadway bag, this was the link

https://www.etsy.com/listing/195870579/reserved-for-lillievintage-coach-leather

I see one that's very similar except the handles have a brass stud in the handles

seller id: karedar10

Is this also a broadway bag? Thanks

It's part Broadway Satchel and part Classic Satchel, one was derived from the other. The brass rivets may have been a short-lived carryover from the Classic Satchel

I thought that if the leather was dyed or treated, it wasn't vachetta? From what I remember, Coach just referred to those leathers as "Legacy". Vachetta is a light tan untreated leather that darkens with age and exposure to air, like the leather trim on an LV. Just because a few sellers pull a name out of their hats to add to the description doesn't make it fact.

In fact it's just listed as a Legacy Leather Flap in the catalogs. No mention at all of Vachetta either in the name or description.

We've mentioned this before but it's worth repeating - Don't always expect a seller to know how to accurately describe a bag, its name, or when it was made. All the listings for so-called "Bonnie Cashin" bags, and "vintage" bags that aren't even ten years old yet, much less the 20 that they'd have to be to be considered vintage, are good examples.

It seems genuine. We'd need measurements to identify the style.
Thank you, Hyacinth-- I'm sorry I should have included them before. The bag measures 9" at the bottom and 9.5" at the top, 7" tall, 3" wide bottom or 3.5" wide including the piped edges on either side. Adjustable strap 47"-50" long. I've posted pics on the rehab thread and someone suggested Oliver #9902 but the sides are different. Thanks so much for the help!

Genuine, and yes, it's Mandarin
Hi Hyacinth, I asked more detailed picture from seller and was weird about one thing. The top handle.

I circle out the area. It is kind of in the middle of the handle. It is like the orange structure inside of the bag. It is clear, because the color is brighter than the bag.
I have one in black, however I don't see the handle like this. The handle is fully covered by the black leather. So was curious if it is because the leather wear out or because of different design for different color, which should not be the case.

It's a Lewiston Bag, style 9931 from late 1993
