Oh wow. Thanks Hyacinth. It's even worse than I imagined. Consumers are actually willing to pay huge amounts for a bag they know is fake. WTF? :confused1:
It amazes me the number of fakes that sell in thrift stores. I was in a thrift a couple weeks ago and a clerk was loading the purse racks with bags, a few fake LV's and an ugly fake green Dooney. I walked by the rack a half hour later and those bags were gone so assume shoppers grabbed them!

I have a new-found love for Coach's leather pieces and I could use some expertise on my first one, this Court bag.

I'm pretty clueless about authenticating so I wasn't sure about this at first because of the non-adjustable straps and interior zipper, but it appears to be okay from what I've read. Also, any idea on when this was made if it is in fact real?

Thanks loves!

Another question..Did Coach make Court bags in Flannel Grey(Gray) Color~1980s USA? THANX!!!

I've never seen a valid "E" plant code from the US. The words in the creed are badly stamped and almost unreadable. I doubt very much if it's genuine.

And yes, grey Court Bags were made during one or two years in the 1980s.

Genuine, probably made betwee 1989 and maybe 1991. The strap is right for the year.

Thanks Hyacinth! Should I report the Not Stewardess with E plant code then?
My court bag is definitely not Blue(as listed) I've compared her to my Deep blue bags(I call them Midnight Blue) & its doubtful she is Black.but I will know more after she has a bath!!
I Love it when I accidently snag Flannel Grey...
As always, I appreciate your help & input!! All the BEST to you!! S.

Hi, can you tell me if this is authentic. I got it for a really great price last minute and didn't have time to really check it out. Now that I really look at it, I realized that it doesn't have the little strip inside saying made in China or anything. I don't know if they took it out or if this one just didn't have one of those to begin with. Thank you for the help!!!

Is there any kind of Made In tag anywhere on the inside? I think federal law requires all clothing and accessories to be labeled with their country of origin. The hangtag is a bit strange too compared to others I've seen. Also a picture of the card that's in the inside pocket might help.

Just to be completely safe I would not report it.

There's no visible creed patch or serial number and it's impossible to authenticate it without seeing those. If you can get a large readable photo of the creed and number we can take another look. We need to see an actual photo.

I asked her for one before I posted here and I just heard back. She said there is none. The auction has already ended and I was outbid, so I may have just dodged a bullet.

She listed the size as 11x11 if my memory is right and any bag that size would have to have a creed patch. The lining was a pattern sometimes used in fakes too. Good thing you were outbid.
