Thank you so much! I went through it, it helped a lot! BTW, Hyacinth did you happened to be familiar with vintage baldan bags. I knew it is not proper to post it here. I went through the website and found no thread or any topic related to the brand. If you happened to know something about this brand, could you help me to check one bag? I can send you by personal message since it is not proper to post it here. Thanks!

Comment: I hope this is real.

Thanks ladies for all the help :)

It's genuine.

So this woman posted this purse for sale on a local swap/sell page and this conversation between her & I happened. You tell me, do I buy it or not? She's taking offers, and didn't post a solid price. It's an Isabelle, without the long strap. She says she is selling it for her mom.

Ashley : Do you have the long strap?

Ashley: Did she buy it from a coach store?

Ashley: I'll give you $30 for it, since it doesn't have the strap and it appears to be a factory reproduction of the original coach Madison Isabelle. The creed starts with an F which means it was made for the factory store(I.e. Williamsburg or gretna), not the full price store(village pointe).

Paige:She got it at village point she has the receipts and paid 300$ so your rude comments can stop NOW!

Paige:And no it did not come with a long strap it was bought at the village pointe coach store.

Ashley: I'm not being rude. But I think if I bought a purse from the village point store and it didn't come with all the straps I would be mad, and I would call the store or coach customer service and request a strap or discount

Paige: Call me at 402*******. I have more info for you.

I don't really want to call her, lol. I don't see the point in that.

Well, you might want to call her to apologise, since you're wrong.

I don't know how many times I've asked members to read the Salearea Guides - there would be a lot less expense and embarrassment if they did, and retained what they read.

I don't know where you're getting the information that if the FIRST digit of the serial number is an "F" that means it was made for the Factory Stores. That's NOT what it means. If the first digit is an F that means it was made in the month of June. If the first digit on the STYLE NUMBER which is the second half of the serial number is an F, then it was Made For Factory (MFF), unlike the bag you're giving her grief about.

Read please, and then maybe you should call that poor woman and apologise.

While I agree that the bag is missing the long strap, there was no way for the buyer (who it sounds like is the seller's mother) to know that if she wasn't familiar with the style already. But it's NOT " a factory reproduction of the original coach Madison Isabelle."

Can someone look at this purse, please? Is this a Manhattan design? Is it beyond redemption if it is genuine? It looks like it has bloodstain on it, and I have no idea if that would come out. TIA

It's a Riverside Bag from the 1992 West End Lightweights line, not the Manhattan Collection.

I can't help much with rehab info.

And in case Hyacinth wasn't clear in her authentication, the bag IS authentic.

I agree that you owe the seller an apology.

Thanks, it's a good price but I don't know if I'm up for the rehab. It kind of reminds me of a Manhattan purse I have with pigskin lining which is just gorgeous but it was in fantastic condition. Maybe I'll wait for another.

They both look ok. The Pocket Purse is one of those classic styles that Coach brought back every few years, just like the Stewardess.
Unfortunately the seller - njshopper06 - reneged on agreed shipping cost and tried to overcharge me for shipping by about $20 and gave me the choice of pay it or cancel. Classic case of sellers' remorse. Seller - njshopper06 - should learn to list properly or start bidding higher if she wants more for her purses!

I mean wtf is a ridzenieks54?

I have rehabbed a black Riverside and it came up well, however I have also worked on the light coloured Lightweights and they are hard work. The colour doesn't come back like it does with the thicker Leatherware range. My recommendation, FWIW, is to wait for something else.

( 89) is apparently the buyer for whom she listed that bag.

But this is really strange.

This listing was "sold" on June 21:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ridzenieks5...hB4P%2Bpbfa8SxqSvk9DY%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

And it's been relisted again, presumably for the same buyer:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ridzenieks54-/231265474212?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35d87f16a4

and again:

Something's rotten in Denmark.

ETA: DO NOT BUY FROM njshopper06 or from ridzenieks54.

They are the same person and are playing games.

Yes I won that one and the NYC bag

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Coa...473?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35d87c6441

and now both have been re-listed because I refused to pay her rip-off shipping. The start for the first auctions was 0.99c they are now BINs with the NYC bag at $44.50 and the black one is listed twice at $34 and $39. That's one confused seller!

I'm tempted to report her because she cancelled the orders and invoiced me directly through PayPal because she couldn't change out of the GSP before the auction ended, which is rubbish.
