I have another bag to authenticate, found today while thrifting after work.

Item: I *think* it's a Lunch Box Zip Style #9991
Seller: Local GW
Comments: It measures about 9" wide, 7" tall and about 3.5" deep. Drop length is 23" but adjustable. The leather feels right but is in need of some serious TLC. Going by the creed, the bag was made in 1996.

Here's the pics!

Thanks in advance :)

It's a genuine Lunch Box Zip.

OUCH.

The first picture shows the back of the turnlock assembly covered with leather. The back is usually left uncovered on genuine Coaches since the turnlocks are designed to be able to be replaced by the bag's owners if they break, and you can't do that with the back part covered by leather.

The third picture showing the back of the turnlock "plate" also shows small indentations that the 4 prongs are set into. Unfortunately genuine Coach turnlocks don't have any indentations there. The prongs are also too short to be genuine.

I'm including a pic of a genuine City Bag showing how the back of the turnlock should be visible.

Sorry, both problems point to your bag being counterfeit.
Thanks for the help! The search continues! I may be back.. need my willis with silver :)

Are these bags faked? I have not searched the bag completely, but I can not find a Coach metal tag plate inside! help

If this helps, mine has the metal tag in the small pocket...see pic below.

I was going to tell you it's a top handle pouch but I didn't know the style number. But I see you came up with a number. Whether it's that style or another similar, I don't know.

Thanks, BeenBurned...maybe I'll find an exact match someday :)
