Complete and utter fake.

Style 1860 belongs ONLY to a Scribble Stitch Tote, NEVER to a plain Signature version. The Scribble Stitch style was embroidered, not just woven, and was a Limited Edition bag that sold for over $400 brand new.

I just sold my genuine Scribble Tote today and seeing a fake of that style is like a knife through my heart. There's nothing right about that bag from the fabric to the misaligned C pattern to the trim to the creed patch.

The REAL one looks like this:

Thank you Hyacinth for authenticating this for me.
I'm going to get a refund first thing tomorrow and let them know that they need to destroy it.
BTW: The Scribble Tote is gorgeous and so fun!

Hi, could I have some help authenticating this bag?

Item: VTG COACH LEATHER NAVY BLUE CITY CROSS BODY ORGANIZER MESSENGER BAG PURSE

Listing number: 231256428644

Seller: sokpbk10

Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231256428644

Comments: I need to stop looking on eBay, because now I want this navy vintage Coach -- looks like a Station bag. And I'm waffling between this bag (if proved genuine) and the Classic Shoulder 9170. This one suits my style more + I've been wanting a navy vintage bag, while the other one has history and character. I cannot get both. I should not get both.

Did you put anything on the creed to make the stamping stand out? The letters have a silvery look.
ETA - Sorry, I should be asking the seller! :D

The bag itself looks like a genuine Station Bag as long as the creed hasn't actually been stamped in silver - and I've never seen that done anyway, but it would be a bad sign. Some knowledgable sellers have learned the trick of highlighting a faded or hard to read creed with metallic or pearl eye shadow to make it easy to read, which may be why this one looks like silver.

I found this purse in my grandmother's attic. It's from the 70s or 80s ( even an old 13 cent stamp inside) and is all leather- it is a " new york" bag and the new york creed matches up ( hard to read in the pic I know) There is no lining- and It's in need of serious clean up, but I wanted some help in finding out if it was authentic or not. I know that they did fake bags in the 70s/80s SO i was hoping for any input. Thanks Also the zipper is talon brand and heavy duty...coach1.jpg

Thank you! hm, I didn't even notice the silvery look of the creed stamping -- just assumed it was the light bouncing off the leather to look that way, but all the words are highlighted in silver. Since everything else checks out, I think I'm going to go for it. :smile1:

I was going to tell you it's a top handle pouch but I didn't know the style number. But I see you came up with a number. Whether it's that style or another similar, I don't know.

Are these bags faked? I have not searched the bag completely, but I can not find a Coach metal tag plate inside! help

I don't know, but anything can be faked. So the only thing that says it's a Coach is the hangtag? That's not really valid proof.

If it's a real Coach, the metal plate, if it had one, might have come loose. Are there any small holes where it might have been attached?

When Tetondeb comes back, you may want to contact her and post photos of the areas she needs to see. I don't usually do pre-creed bags.

It has B on the round metal thing, on the sides of where the pocket opens. I will look for holes where it could come loose. Anything else I should look for? I know a few people have these in their collection...

The B is for the manufacturer of the kisslock.

Post your pics here: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/vintage-coach-photos-and-chat-857690.html quite a few of the ladies have this style of bag and may be able to help you with the other details to look for.
