Hello once again :)

This bag has been in my closet for a while, but I thought I'd dig it out. I got it sometime last year while thrifting. Is it authentic?

Item: I think it's a Worth Bag, style 4143
Comments: The leather is more lightweight feeling than my other vintage Coaches. It also has a plastic zipper, but from what I've read, Coach made a series of bags that were lighter in construction in the 90s? If I go by the serial number, this bag was made in 1996. There is one thing that I found really weird: I dunked the bag, because it was in pretty rough shape (still is tbh). After the soak, I stuffed the bag with washcloths so that it would maintain the shape. When I removed the towels, I noticed that the creed is more... faded. Almost as if the towels were pressing against the leather pocket while the purse was drying, and the pressure flattened the pocket. Is that possible?

Anyway, on to the pictures:

The front:

And back:

And the inside (sorry for such crap quality on this one!)

Hangtag:

Inside pocket -- note the indentations, they weren't there before the dunking. I think they are indents left by the towels.

The creed and serial number. Before the dunking, it was more legible!

Thanks in advance! :)

FWIW Here's a link to my Worth bag...looks like same color...authenticated in August, 2013. The creed was very faint...BEFORE dunking: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-shopping/authenticate-this-coach-818914-296.html#post25242102

It's a genuine Worth Bag.

The Soho and Lightweight lines had thinner leathers than the classic and vintage leathers and maybe that left them a little more "tempermental" about holding their shape or being affected by what was touching them. I've never dunked any bags from those lines and can't speak from experience.

Thanks! :D

The rest of the dunking went okay, I think. The bag seemed to hold its shape better. I'm still in the conditioning process, and the leather feels better each time I do it.

Yipes!

I thought you might like to take a look at this alleged fake, before I report to eBay.

L4C-5130

Item:Coach Thick Green Leather L4C-5130 Station Flap Front Patricia Shoulder Bag
Item#:261496951292
Seller:buffalochick
URL:http://www.ebay.com/itm/261496951292?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Comments: Looks like 3 or 4 different bag styles were mish-moshed together. Even the seller doesn't know what to call it! 5130 belongs to Station bag, which looks entirely different, has a turn lock and does not have a half flap. Among other details, the Coach cartouche is questionable.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to interpret tone and intent in the written word on the internet.

Hyacinth wasn't being snippy but all of us who have been here a while get frustrated when we see a post that implies an authentic item is fake because we've seen those authentic listings get reported and removed.

The problem with a post that's worded as yours was is that there are lurkers who infer that the bag is fake and report it. For a seller to have her authentic listing pulled is painful (emotionally) and also puts a huge ding on the seller's account. And unless the seller has an unbelievable amount of stamina and patience, ebay does its best to wear sellers down when those wronged sellers try to dispute the takedown. In fact, it can cost the seller upwards of $50 to get a professional authentication document to prove to ebay that the item isn't fake.
I re-read Hyacinth's response and I don't see at all that she was snippy.
I SOOOOOOO agree with the comment that you cannot read tone and intent on internet (or texting) chat, so always give the benefit of the doubt.
I have personally offended people unintentionally because they mis-understood my "tone", so I know what that is like!

I am assuming that she asked "why" you think it was not authentic because maybe there are some details that you expected to see and didn' t, etc. and I'm sure had you responded to that question she would have just enlightened you with more of her knowledge.

Is there a reason why everyone is speaking for Hyacinth? I do understand and took no personal offense. I did respond to her question. Can we move on?

There's a bag in the post I made above that I have some concerns about. I'm hoping I can get an answer to my authenticity question about

COACH Signature Logo Poppy Indigo Denim Purse Handbag

Has anyone heard of icoachmall.com?

This is a bag I was interested in:
http://www.icoachmall.com/Coach-City-Medium-Tan-Totes-DID-p-2115.html#.U49M0WMU-P-

I know that these are probably stupid questions. The price on the bag is way too low to be real. Plus every bag (and the web site is huge) is shown for sale at the same unbelievable price of $63.99.

I can't remember how I even came across this web site. Any response(s) would be appreciated.

I would be careful with that website. I tried to go to the link you provided and here's what came up
