It seems we are on a roll with fakes. Would someone please tell me if this one is authentic? The size, etc are correct but I do not want to take a chance that another one of the cute shoppers could be a fake. It's a sad day when someone pays a service to authenticate a bag and they are wrong. Geesh!

Do you own it or are the pictures from a website? It looks like the hardware is silver in the photos and it shouldn't be on a bag made in October 1996. I'd also really like to see the other half of the magnetic snap. The creed seems ok though.

Hi Hyacinth,
It is from a web site but if I post a link to a great bag, they sometimes sell before I can get back to them. Here is a photo that shows both sides of the snap. The description says the hardware is brass so could be a photo issue?

Item: Coach briefcase/Attache case
Listing number: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-COACH-B...kWHVZgRdT%2FLVtQ1X9gk%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Seller: setterami
Comments: I know the strap is not original but am hoping the actual case is.
Please authenticate and thank you!

The use of Bonnie Cashin's name is extremely misleading since she had no connection at all to this briefcase and had stopped designing for Coach at least 15 years before this bag was even made. And as you noticed, the strap has been drastically cut down to about 2/3rds of its original size, maybe more.

It seems to be a genuine Lexington Brief from the early 1990s but it's hard to be completely sure since the photo of the creed stamp isn't very clear.

Since we are on a streak, I'm a little nervous to post these...but following are some purchases I made before finding you wonderful people. I'd love to get your opinions. I'll post each one in a separate post to keep it organized. Thanks in advance!
