Care to authenticate? I already bought and have received this, but have been wary since purchase about it being fake.

Per the creed, handcrafted in China.
Serial G13-9870. Am I date-reading correct that this isn't terribly old, just from 2001?

Thanks so much.

It looks fine. You're right about the date. The seller was wrong in claiming that it is vintage.

Thanks. Considering she gave me a $25 refund because it was accidentally shipped with the consignment store price tag still on, I guess I have no real complaints. I wish I'd seen the dating information prior to purchase but now I know for next time. Thanks again!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum so I'm looking for someone to help me authenticate a bag.
I bought this bag at Woodbury Commons outlet mall 5-6 years ago and recently sold it to someone on eBay. Now that she's received it, she's worried about its authenticity and noted that her concern was with the leather trim. I'm a bit upset now because there's no way to authenticate it with Coach. I was obsessed with Coach when I was 12-16 and would never have bought a fake (my family could afford the real product, so why would I bother with something of lesser quality).
Can anyone here confirm that it's real for the both of us?

The serial number is F0849-40688

I only have two pictures from before I sold it, but I'll go ahead and let her know that I posted this and maybe she can add some.

Good evening. I purchased a vintage Coach Carousel tonight but it needs to be authenticated as the creed looks a bit wonky. I had not noticed it until my friend Two.time pointed it out. :smile1: I have already contacted the seller and asked her not to ship until she hears back. I've attached a photo of the bag and the creed. The dimensions of the bag are correct but the creed format would put this bag at around 1989 - 1990. All of the others I've seen were made around 1994 Any assistance will be most appreciated.

There's nothing wrong with the bag.

I'm interested to know why she thinks it's fake or if the authentication reassures her that she got the real deal. :smile1:

Yes, it's most definitely fake, the serial number is on Hyacinth's "list" as well as references to the phony stamp lines above and below the numbers.

Please post the listing.

Take a good look at this style "No" and remember it. It's possible that it was used on some genuine bags but so far almost everything I've seen it in has been either questionable or out-and-out fake.
Hi Hyacinth.

While searching for something else, I came across this listing for a carousel bag and recalled your post from yesterday suggesting we watch for the oval "0" in No and the elongated underscore. I also noticed that the serial number stamping (supposedly from 1995) is "too perfect."

Tonight I came across this listing. In addition to the "No" and underscore, I also noticed that the serial number stamping (supposedly from 1995) is "too perfect."

Is this bag fake?
