out of curiosity - how could you tell it was made in 2006?Genuine, made in 2006
I purchased this bag and I was very confident it was OK, till I received it and the hardware is the questionable type. I was just recently advised by the experts of this thread, not to dismiss or label any bag as fake because of the parts that could be easily replaced, that's why I am asking for your opinion.
I bought the bag (listing was not showing the hardware on the seller's pictures), not even thinking about it, so please do not think I disregarded the advice of better not to purchase if there was no time to ask here first, I just didn't see the red flag at the time.
Thank you in advance.

ah, thank you. didnt know about those. appreciate it Hyacinth. From the year code "06" in the serial number.
You should read and Bookmark the Salearea Coach Guides posted at Ebay, especially the ones about creeds and serial numbers:

I'm not sure why you think the hardware is a problem, it's exactly like it's supposed to be and there's nothing wrong with the bag. You may want to go back and look more closely at the photo I posted a few days ago of the questionable turnlock and the indentations in it. The one in the Belmont you posted doesn't have any indentations.
Thanks again for your reply. I confess to be confused, sorry. I looked at the picture you refer to and I thought it was similar to the way the Belmont is, because I compared it initially with another bag I own which is totally smooth underneath. I didn't pay close attention to the picture, I apologize again.
Too many bags, too many details to distinguish for a Coach newbie as myself, I am trying to learn as fast as I can, not to waste the valuable time of the authenticators here, but I feel overwhelmed at times.
Thank you very much! I feel better now, started to get paranoid for a minute. Have a good week. The embossing is of large and small scales, so it's not surprising for the bottom to show both. The hangtag also has embossing. Other bags of the same style on Ebay have the same details, like this one:

I don't see any problems other than maybe the Coach emblem. That doesn't mean it's fake though.
I don't see any problems with it. More opinions are welcome.
Thank you. I've never had a coach fabric bag so is it normal for there to wear on it? Only used a few months and it is for sure from me. Didn't come that way and also the handle is peeling already and came perfect looking?! Should I contact coach?

Comments: hi y'all, what do you think of this purse? I'm obsessed with finding a navy leather Coach, and this looks pretty good & decently sized.
Agreed, but the seller was nice enough to give a refund here. They felt badly that they're listing was showing up in Coach search even though they didn't use the word Coach, only Stewardess.THe seller has a 14-day return policy so any buyer can return any item for any reason, however in this case, it wasn't seller error that resulted in the misunderstanding. The listing didn't use "Coach" in the title, description or item specifics nor did the bag show any Coach markings. This shows why it's so important for buyers to read listings carefully, ask questions and know what they're buying.
The learning part always comes slowly - meanwhile don't hesitate to ask. Remember, none of us were born knowing all this either.
