Is the month code an 'S'? The lining of the bag looks like it might be pulling up, which I think is unusual for a Stewardess

ETA: On closer examination of the serial stamping..... it looks similar to the one-unit stamps that create a box around the No. and serial number.

I agree. The hardware is silver, not brass like the Coach bags. The Coach Stewardess strap had buckles, the patch inside looks like the bottom is folded over, the metal feet are the wrong shape, and the Coach didn't have a lining.

I found this page though. Only a few of the photo links work and I had to get them through the Wayback.

Genuine, and a Bag With Two Names.

It was introduced as a Canterbury in 1994, and then for some unknown reason Coach changed the name to Nottingham in early 1995. So since it was made in mid-1994 that probably makes it a Canterbury.

I believe that bag is authentic but it seems to be missing the longer shoulder strap with chain. You might want to ask the seller if it's included.

Beware that the exact serial number has been seen on fakes, some of the same style and some of different styles.

It's fake. Yes, the serial number starts with S and the border is another red flag.

THe seller has a 14-day return policy so any buyer can return any item for any reason, however in this case, it wasn't seller error that resulted in the misunderstanding. The listing didn't use "Coach" in the title, description or item specifics nor did the bag show any Coach markings. This shows why it's so important for buyers to read listings carefully, ask questions and know what they're buying.

There is a proper leather embossed tag too.

Unless the other two bags have exactly the same serial number meaning they were made in the same plant, month and year you should never compare details when trying to figure out what's authentic or not. Coach often change details during production.

I'm not familiar at all with that style bag but the creed looks ok. Without knowing whet the bag and the inside is supposed to look like or having pictures of the bag itself, that's all I can comment on. If you bought the bag on Ebay please post links to the auction and supply the information we ask for in Post number One in this thread.

I bought a mini black Marabox Borough on eBay and it looks great but I am quite worried about it because there is a fabric Coach tag. There is no fabric tag on the other two minis I bought from Lord & Taylor. Would really appreciate your views on whether the bag is authentic. Thank you!

There is a proper leather embossed tag too.

My first generation Borough (full size) have both of these labels. I don't have any mini's, but the marabox was a first generation finish so it would appear correct to me.

I purchased this bag and I was very confident it was OK, till I received it and the hardware is the questionable type. I was just recently advised by the experts of this thread, not to dismiss or label any bag as fake because of the parts that could be easily replaced, that's why I am asking for your opinion.

I bought the bag (listing was not showing the hardware on the seller's pictures), not even thinking about it, so please do not think I disregarded the advice of better not to purchase if there was no time to ask here first, I just didn't see the red flag at the time.
